"My experience playing under Warshaw was extremely frustrating due to the fact that he simply does not coach. I do not believe I have bettered in any way as a player during my time at CSUN, and he focuses more on having us do swim sets than working on actual water polo. There is little structure, and perhaps the most frustrating thing about it all is the fact that there is so much wasted talent on the team. Favoritism is rampant, and swim set times determine your playing time, not your actual abilities as a water polo player. He is not a bad person, he is a caring and compassionate person when it comes to his players, so come too CSUN if you’re in the mood for a chill, most likely disappointing, collegiate career."
"Christine Johnson was lucky to get this position after completing her embarrassing stint at a lower division Manchester College where she never had a winning season. Very defensive minded coach, her ability to create a string back line is undeniable, yet by focusing so much on defense rarely does her team generate any good attack or break lines. Focuses more on fitness than tactics. Interesting character, couldn’t ever figure her out. Puts on a “tough guy” persona…but is very insecure. Runs Professionally ran practices that make sense and flow. Has a good array of drills that promote competitiveness. Big on mentality. Why has she never won more than 5 games in a season as head coach? "
"Expects players bond but she doesn’t give opportunities until it’s too late.
Always playing a defensive game. Don’t even shoot from the back, only up the side cross in and a miss.
Blames the players never her fault.
No personality on the field.
Plays favorites and brings in new players for those who aren’t her favorite.

"Has this position by luck because previous coach was bullied out of his successful job. Now the team is filled with culture, skin color and not talent on the pitch. Bunch of pot heads. "
"Extremely negative person. Seems to take pleasure in demeaning and destroying the players he recruits. Asks players to tattle on teammates. Prefers bringing in new players over actual development. Toxic. Multiple players quit, during the school year, due to his constant criticism. "
"Coach Warshaw joined the program and really hasn't improved it much during his tenure. CSUN hasn't won any conference game during his time (5 years). Player development is basically awful and the players mostly resent him. A few years back, the team revolted and players went directly to the AD and it looked like he was gone, but no change was made. He figured out that loading CSUN's schedule with Div III teams made his schedule look better, although this seemed to backfire in 2022 as they struggled against a number of these smaller teams. His assistant coaches were much better and would have been a good choice to replace him. "
"Coach Serrano is a nice guy. He makes academic excellence and community service a priority in his program. He is a pitching guy and will be highly involved in the pitching staff. Coach Serrano can be very egocentric when it comes to piching philosophy. He can be very stubborn on certain things, even in the face of mounting evidence that suggests otherwise. Make sure he really likes you before you commit to him. His favorites will get plenty of chances to prove themselves."
