"Please note that my only interaction was meeting Coach Aldrich in person when we toured the college and wanted to learn more about his coaching style and how he ran the program for Track & Field. Aldrich took the time to share and answer any of our questions. He spoke about having good amount of years of coaching high level Athletes who went on to compete in the Olympics. It was off putting to me as he came across to me more focused on making sure only Athletes would compete & travel if they were only able to contribute to competion standings [in a DIII level); explained in detail how every Athlete must return to try out to "earn their spot" on the team, even returning star Athletes. Aldrick did stress the importance of perserverance and diligence to committent and practice "put your time in" and is looking for dedicated Athletes. I didn't get a good sense of what type of training strategies would be specifically adapted and focused for short distance runners and that he was relying on a newly hired short distance coach. We weren't looking for a "easier ticket to get admitted to CM via athletics" and I'm sure this Coach has met with many prospectives thinking that athletics would be a way into admissions. That all said, I saw the passon for excellence and dedication as a Coach but we walked away thinking his coaching style may not be a great fit for our athlete and questioned what type of team culture this Head Coach would cultivate."
"Let us know that spots were limited and athlete needs to try out for their spot every year. Spot on team and spots on traveling squad based on performance and ability to score points "

"Mike Belmonte and Andy girard are “macho” men who use bullying and intimidation to coach. They are not ethical people and recruit a certain “brainwashble” and “naive” student to play for them. I’m so done with toxic masculinity and Mike Belmonte is the definition of that. I remember one time they met with me (an 18 year old attractive girl) ALONE in a hotel room to degrade and gang up on me. Had I known at the time that this was wildly inappropriate, I would’ve reported them immediately. The shame and embarrassment they put me through was too much. I will one day expose their behavior. "
"I played for Yon for 4 years.. he has decent knowledge of the game, but cares more about himself than the team. I do not believe he is a good person, which translates to a bad coach. He would consistently put teammates against each other to "drive competition" but it would in turn just create a poor team culture. He's extremely conceited, because he coaches at a prestigious school, but it is not worth it. I became a worse player during my tenure under him. He has his ways of wanting things done, and if you don't do them to a tee, he will punish you for them. Even if you have a slightly different style of play that is still effective. My favorite memory was when he set up a practice that was purely centered around headers and just had us practice heading in crosses. 2 players got concussions that practice from the constant heading of a driven ball, and one had long-term effects from that concussion. Just plain dumb. "
"Doesn’t know what he is talking about when he coaches. Gives misleading information. Super passive aggressive and not understanding in the slightest. Values his own time and does not respect others’. Would not recommend. A big reason most people dropped the team when they did"
"Playing for Coach Bowman was an incredible experience. I really can’t say enough good things about him. I enjoyed every practice, game, meeting, meal, you name it, with Coach Bowman. He absolutely loves the game and cares about his players. "
"More of the “face of the program”, and less of an actual coach. He needs a strong assistant who can run the team tactics while he oversees the program."
"Lackner is a great coach who’s been around 3+ decades. He has an extremely high knowledge of the game and knows how to motivate and mentor a large group of young college athletes. "
"Facilities are all a close walk or completely on campus. The soccer field is a great place because it’s easily accessible for students to come by and watch a game !"
"Yon is very easy to get along with, but sometimes comes off a bit conceited in the recruiting process. Visiting the school was a pleasure, however, and you can tell he cares about how the players fit at the university. "
