"Toxic, manipulative, verbally abusive, dangerous, liar, inept, volatile, careless, narcissistic, selfish. Coach Bry creates what I experienced as a toxic and divisive team environment. Throughout the season, she appeared to encourage conflict between the sophomore and freshman players, while simultaneously criticizing the team for a perceived lack of teamwork. Despite these efforts, the players developed a strong bond and often felt united in coping with the coaching environment. Many of us felt it was "the team versus the coach" for much of the season. I also have serious concerns about athlete safety. In my experience, player well-being was not prioritized. Approximately half of the team sustained significant injuries during the season, with several athletes ultimately requiring surgery. Many of us and our doctors believed that poorly planned and unnecessarily dangerous drills contributed to these injuries. One particularly concerning incident involved Coach Bry driving a bus full of student-athletes on Interstate 10 at approximately 4:30 a.m. while participating in FaceTime calls. If players fell asleep or closed their eyes during the trip, she would intentionally jerk the steering wheel to startle them awake while traveling at highway speeds, yelling that we needed to "be game ready." I believe this behavior unnecessarily endangered everyone on the bus. Coach Bry also frequently asked players about their sexual orientation and attempted to engage them in conversations about personal and intimate topics that many athletes found inappropriate and uncomfortable. When athletes or parents raised concerns with the athletic director or other administrators, there was a widespread perception that retaliation followed. If Coach Bry was confronted by school leadership, the team was often subjected to excessive physical conditioning until someone admitted to making the complaint. These punishments sometimes involved conditioning drills to the point of vomiting. Her communication with players was frequently demeaning and unprofessional. She regularly used profanity and insulting language, including calling players "selfish bitches" and other derogatory names. She also often discussed her personal life and marital problems with the team, at times appearing to direct her personal frustrations toward the athletes. Overall, Coach Bry was the most ineffective and abusive coach I have experienced. Her conduct negatively affected team morale, athlete safety, and the overall well-being of the players. I believe these concerns warrant serious review to help ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for current and future student-athletes."

"I recently came across this platform, and it’s disheartening—though sadly not surprising—to see that others have had experiences similar to mine. Although my time with this coach was six years ago, I believe it’s important to share what happened in hopes of helping future student-athletes make informed decisions on where they want to continue their career. Bryanne often chose to single players out and humiliate them in front of the team. Private matters were frequently made public, with teammates being drawn into meetings that should have remained private. One of the most uncomfortable and inappropriate aspects of my experience was her fixation on my personal life—particularly who I was dating at the time and what I did outside of school/softball. These conversations were intrusive, incredibly inappropriate, and made me feel as though my character was being scrutinized for reasons that had nothing to do with my performance as a student-athlete. Eventually, I brought my concerns—and a recording of one of our conversations—to the dean. She was placed on temporary leave, but no further steps were taken. I ultimately made the decision to transfer to Arizona State University to continue my education elsewhere. The following statement reflects my personal opinion based on my own experiences in which I strongly advise against any athlete playing under her, as I found her conduct to be highly unprofessional. "I had an extremely poor experience with this coach. She constantly used inappropriate language, such as profanity, and personally criticized athletes, making them feel belittled and degraded. Rather of providing a good, supportive environment, she generated drama among teammates, causing unnecessary friction. She also openly ridiculed and embarrassed her players in front of the entire squad, encouraging them to do the same, resulting in a toxic environment. To make matters worse, she spoke negatively about former athletes to other coaches and players, spreading hostility and gossip. It was obvious that she had no problem speaking behind people's backs. When confronted about her behavior, she would never take responsibility for her actions, often deflecting blame onto others or making excuses instead of owning up to her mistakes. This lack of accountability worsened the situation and contributed to a hostile, unprofessional atmosphere. Overall, her actions were utterly unacceptable for a coach, making it impossible to feel supported or valued as an athlete."
