"Lies and gaslighting like no other. Will make you think you're doing excellent and give you all the confidence just to strip it away from you. You will give everything, all of your effort, and still face absolutely no reward. Plays mind games constantly and then acts shocked when you stand up for yourself like your words are out of the blue. Expects D1 committment out of players. She states that she prioritizes academics, when in reality you will indirectly be punished and pushed to the side unless you are a top priority player if you begin to struggle. Team itself is clique-y at times and does not always feel inclusive as the coach makes it feel as though we are all at each others necks, competing to be the best. While this can be good at times and is respectable, it tears the team apart. I felt as though I could not trust anyone on this team or rely on the coaches. The jokes about trauma bonding with each other were rampant. Betsy pushes for checking in and keeping a positive mental well-being, but my mental health was at its worst when I was a part of the team she created. I could not even talk to her or address her as an adult, as she would stare at the ground or back away from you when you would walk up to her. The emphasis on a supportive collective could not be any further from the truth. My time on this team genuninely made me hate a sport that had been such a major part of me and my perosnality for the greater part of my life. I lost touch of myself and who I wanted to be from my experience on this team and am so glad I had the awareness to realize this and get away before I lost myself entriely. The time on this team and with Betsy, I am still grateful for as I learned how to stand up and advocate for myself in a respectful against those who so blatantly do not respect me. "
"Coach Betsy cares about us as players and young women! She does a great job checking-in with the team by individual check-ins and pre-practice inventories. I really like how she provides opportunities to not only give feedback to players but also receive feedback as a coach. "
"She doesn’t play players in the right position. Poor communication. Once tried to schedule an overnight with recruits during finals week. Play players until injury. Not easy to talk to."
"Coach Dodson is currently my college lacrosse coach and he is amazing. He really knows the game and is always fair when assigning roles. He is always preaching about how close a team should be and how that starts off the field."
"The best coach I have ever had in my life. He is able to connect in a way most coaches cannot as well as being a great leader. Since squash is such a small niche sport, Chris understands the importance of the community in squash and encourages all of us to be pioneers to the sport during and after our time at Dickinson."
"Chris is one of the best coaches I have ever had. He cares deeply about everyone on and off the court. He is constantly on us about our academics and checks in to make sure we are getting the help we need. While our performance on court is very important to him, he always makes sure we are having fun.
