"Never, ever play for this man. The time I spent on his team were the worst time of my life and could not end fast enough. He created a toxic atmosphere for everyone involved and encouraged players to talk badly about their teammates. Not to mention his knowledge of the sport is HORRIBLE. I have not met a single person that has ever had a good thing to say about this man as a coach. Let’s not even get into how the school he works for will stick up for him no matter what he does and no matter how many times the team complains over NUMEROUS years, nothing will change and they will just tell you that the team is the problem. Everyone I know who is either still on the team or has been at some point, have only stayed for their love of the sport (if he doesn’t completely ruin it) or their friends on the team while actively getting worse at a sport they’ve spent their whole life to get good at. The fact that not a single one of his players who have graduated have chosen to come back to play for their graduate years despite still going to the school should say A LOT. Do not let this man fool you, he makes his team look good because he stacks their season with a bunch of easy games that he knows they’ll win, only to lose almost every single league game or post season game. He does not know how to coach this sport at all. You will spend the whole practice doing the same drills over and over and over again while he sits there on his phone or chatting it up with one of his favorite players, but don’t get your hopes up, if you’re not blonde with blue eyes he’ll treat you like dirt. The outright favoritism and overall uncomfortable relationships he makes with only select players on the team is creepy and it’s just outright unnerving how they all look identical throughout the years. If you’re looking for a coach who would be better off getting practice plans off Temu, who will guilt trip you into playing through injuries, talk badly to teammates behind your back, scream at the team like a raging manchild during halftimes, and be weirdly close with only blondes with blue eyes on the team, then this is the coach for you. This man is a narcissist and just an outright unpleasant person to be around. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere but a school where this man is coaching. Trust me."
