"If i could rate a zero i would. Has a horrible reputation among other NESCAC coaches and in girls youth hockey organizations. an emotionally manipulative person who is extremely apathetic towards her players despite claiming that she supports her players’ mental health. Players have written petitions to the athletic department every year to have her fired but she remains the head coach. She plays favorites and if she doesn’t like you there is nothing you can do to change that. she won’t play you and won’t make the effect to improve your game. She ruined my college hockey experience. "
"Practices are tough and he works you hard. But he’s the best coach I’ve ever had, he is constantly checking in on how you are doing and is very easy to talk to. "
"Create a negative team culture, is unapproachable and arrogant. At first seems like a kind person, but as the layers unfold, he simply is not. He plays head games with his players, and Connecticut College needs to hire a new Women’s Soccer Coach.
"
"Coach Klaeson has an extremely high tennis IQ and is a great coach. He is a positive person and an amazing coach for players who are also willing to work hard. Coach Klaeson also helps to create a positive team culture. "
"Coach Klaeson is a great coach to play for. He really cares about his players, and puts a lot of thought and effort into practice plans and how to get everyone to improve. He values effort a lot and expects that everyone is committed to the team on and off the court. "
"He was an awful coach and was fired after far too long. Almost unanimously hated by all of his players, Cornell intentionally created and fostered toxic inter personal relationships on his team in the name of “competition.” Hopefully he’s done coaching forever so that he does not ruin the sport for any more kids. "
"Norm Riker does not care about individual players or about positive team culture. To get a good understanding of how his own players feel about him just look at hiw many players quit by their senior year. Most of these young women come into the program extremely passionate about soccer and leave extremely deflated. It's really a sad situation for a NESCAC team!"
"I have a good relationship with my coach but after two years me and my teammates have been struggling to find success and our coach does not help us succeed as much as we were looking for when we chose the school. "
"I was recruited by Coach Burk to attend an ID camp at Conn College. He seemed extremely interested and suggested that I would be considered a top recruit and then pulled the rug out from under me. I wasn't considered and he just wanted me to pay to attend the camp."
"I was recruited by Coach Murphy and invited to a camp. I feel as though he pulled out all the stops to get me there but then never really saw me as a potential recruit. Never attended the school just paid the camp fees. Felt like a waste."
"I came to visit Conn College during a summer camp. The facilities were great with a pristine turf field. The campus was also amazing as I went during the summer and the weather was nice. The campus was fairly large and had plenty of things for student-athletes to do."
"This guy is a head case. Almost nobody on the team enjoyed him whatsoever, complaints everywhere. Loved mind games, made no effort to be friendly to players unless you were his go to guy. "
"One of the worst humans. Had hope in the beginning, but this slowly dissipated as his true character became clear. He has little respect for his athletes and their physical/mental wellbeing. He is sexist, treating the boys better than the women. Has no empathy and constantly lies. He can give 10,000 meter sets, but no other coaching or life skills."
"Not great at connecting with his guys. Knowledgeable on X / O's for sure but doesn't bring the best out of players. Has strong biases towards players , isn't approachable by any means. "
"A sick-minded, abusive, terrible human. Does not teach, belittles her players, sucks confidence out of players, has ruined so many collegiate careers. Emotionally abusive, picks favorites, plays mind games, pretends players don't exist, and doesn't do anything to develop college athletes. Future athletes: play anywhere else but for her. "
" I've trained under some of the most repected and most intelligent coaches in the country but coach is truly something special. Being a college coach takes more than just being ready to tackle swim season. You need to be a father figure for a group hungry swimmer who want to succeed at the highest level and plays the role perfectly. Love this man"
"The WORST coach of all time, not personable and didn't understand how to get the best out of his players. Had 7 players quit during his time coaching."
"Great at motivating the team to work hard and become better players. He values teamwork and helps create a great team atmosphere. All around, he is a great coach to play for."
"Doesn't listen to his team. Picked a poor assistant coach. Relies on his teams skills rather than his coaching ability. Not a good leader and doesn't deserve the good teams he has coached."
"Players don't always agree with him but he's honest and calls it the way he sees it. Definitely cares a lot about the well being of players. Very competitive. Well respected."

"He is very understanding of college culture in a time where some coaches don't necessarily understand. He wants to the best for you, but also wants the best for his team as well, which makes perfect sense. The number one thing with Coach Cornell is honesty and integrity and it makes for a better relationship with him and with peers in general."
"Never thought I'd reach the level of success that I had in college so quickly. My improvement from high school to college was significant. Loved the team, great group of girls. Our coach helped make it that way. Friendly competitive atmosphere, for anyone who gives it their all and wants to reach their fullest potential. Wish I could be coached by Ned Bishop post collegiatly"
"Ned has been a great coach. He have a passion for running and is very committed to our team. The only thing I do not like is that he requires us to run cross-country, indoor track, and outdoor track (I would prefer to only do xc)."
"Coach Nagle is a true professional. He has a blue collar, hard-working mentality that is contagious to his players. One of the best player development coaches I have ever seen when it comes to adding skill to natural talent. If players trust in Coach Nagles system it is hard to not be successful."
"Contradicted himself on all phases. Would give defensive strategy during practice, come down 15 minutes later and change everything. The one year he decided to bypass a team vote for captains, he himself nominated a captain who he eventually kicked off the team for being uncommitted.... Says he is open to honest conversations, but once you tell him how you feel (and if it's not in his favor) he rips you apart and tells you how wrong you are.His way or the highway, no suggestions for strategy."
"Coach has an incredible ability to turn his massive store of swimming knowledge into results. Although there's no lack of hard work, his focus on swimming smarter and more efficiently is what took my swimming well beyond any of my goals. He's the best coach and mentor I will likely ever have."
"He was overall not a good person. He lied several times on my recruiting trip and came off as a good cosch. This turned out to be false. Very few players end up playing all four years mainly because of the coaches volatile behavior."
"Never met a man who cared more about the group he coached, was more motivated to achieve what he set out to do, nor more loyal and dedicated than Marc Benvenuti"
"Coach Riker is not a good coach in the slightest! In fact he has never played high level soccer. He was a college lacrosse player and initially a lacrosse coach. Most players would describe his coaching as a “lacrosse coach trying to coach soccer.” Besides his poor coaching and tactics, Coach Riker promotes a toxic team culture. He plays mind games with his players! Pressuring other players to convince certain player to quit, which violates policy and boundaries. If you don’t believe that look at the turn around of player who make it to their senior year… the numbers don’t lie. Coach Riker is emotionally abusive and controls his players. I would say it is intentional, however, I truly believe he is off the rails crazy. Connecticut college is a beautiful school with great professors, however, if soccer is your main objective or goal in college I’d look at the other Nescacs or other schools."
