"Great experience. I think that Paul really cares about all his athletes and pushes for them to do their best on and off the water. I would recommend Drexel as an option for anyone who would want to row in college."
""Tough but fair" sums up Nathan completely. He will push you and hold you to very high standards, but if anything goes seriously wrong he ALWAYS shows up and ALWAYS will help. If you haven't experienced that, it's because you haven't really screwed up.
He believes in ownership and holding people accountable. Athletes that struggle with him need more "hand holding" (which he admits he struggles with!)"
"Played for him and was not motivated or coached to my full ability. If you have a bad day, or injury, or set back it feels as though your written off and have to battle harder to get back on an even keel.
Very knowledgeable on the game but be ready for some cursing directed at you in practice..
Wish there was a bit more positive direction and reinforcement from the staff. No way of knowing but staff could've helped me reach my full potential and potentially help the team overall.
"
"She is really nice but it is very disorganized and nothing really makes sense. Overall though with the players we do improve, but we would benefit from a younger coach. Great team culture though "
"Cool guy but maybe thinks he’s a little too cool. Doesn’t really take the chance to get to know his players unless he decides they’re worthy of his time. Voelker definitely knows the game really well and is a good X’s and O’s guy but he’s not the guy who’s gonna boost team morale."
"Denise is a fantastic coach! Very knowledgable about the game and willing to teach a lot. Definitely the responsibility of her players to cultivate a personal relationship. "
"Good motivater and program director; focuses more on coaching boats as a whole than individual work; tends to give more value too erg scores then is productive like most collegiate coaches; always able to meet;"
"Puts too much of an emphasis on numbers and not enough emphasis on actual boat speed. People make top boats solely based on ergs, rather than how well they actually row.
Also, practices are inefficient and unfocused until 40 mins in at least."
