"The longer I stayed on this team, the more the culture completely fell apart. Jeff makes preconceived notions about players in his head, so rankings, partnerships, and decisions are unfair. You could win at practice and still not be considered, even if you beat ranked pairs or keep winning with a partner. Some can lose in most practices and games and never be taken out of contention. Lots of wasted potential on this team. If you’re looking to be developed, this is not the place. Limited knowledgeable feedback, and your growth can easily be restricted with how he runs this team. Toxic culture comes from the top down, and when he gives players fighting for a playing spot only one chance in the lineup before never trying them again, he fosters a fear-based environment. If you’re confident you can win every game or that you will be one of his favorites, go ahead and play under him! The coaches’ personalities have changed over the past few years from supportive and involved into high-stress, unstable, destructive, and disrespectful. He has always been doubtful of players though, and he hardly ever has a positive outlook. He crosses players off his list for terrible reasons, or because he thinks he’s predicting weakness on the team that doesn’t exist. Coach is not open to listening to players and changing his mindset, so none of the players respect him. I am scared for this team’s future while he is here. Hopefully the level of the players masks how crumbled the foundation is! I could go on, but I hate this coach and wouldn’t give him the time of day. I have already wasted so much time at this program thinking I might not be good enough, when I was the whole time. No matter who you are, if you confront him asking for respect and change, he won’t listen. He will always think he’s right."
"Nick is a straight forward coach who is willing to help anyone at the drop of a hat. Very respectable coach and person. His coaching style is a good balance of high intensity, detailed pre-game run through, or position oriented technical session. The drills he ran incorporated an environment of high tempo while continually competing and intrinsically wanting to improve. He motivates you, as a student-athlete, to be a better player, person, and student. He is level headed and professional."
