"Son played for him at a different school. Had a bench that was pretty deep with talent but didn’t seem to know how to use them. Lineups didn’t make sense, 5’9” setter in front row against 6’6” blockers/hitters while 6’5” OH played back row only. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason to his lineups and he did not adjust them even after losing miserably. I don’t think he really understands the game from a tactical standpoint, hence our extreme losing seasons. FWIW son played 3-4 rotations most games, so this criticism isn’t about playing time, it’s about frustration over losing repeatedly when they had the talent to win."
"Cares about her players and is fair. Doesn’t put up with whiner or players that feel entitled. Puts up with players who were “stars” on high school or tournament team but come to D1 school and feel they don’t need to compete for playing time. "
"Claire does not coach at EU anymore but she was overly involved in player lives. Would pit players against each other. Call them inappropriate names. Would say that injured athletes were making it up. She also did not know softball and that was reflected in eastern’s three years of winning less than 10 games"
"Coach Brenner was a dedicated professional and I was able to work with him when he was a coach at Elmira. During the recruiting process he was excellent at answering any questions and helped throughout the my time looking for schools."
"She is an obese woman, hardly knows anything about the game of softball. Isn't very intelligent but is a sweet talker and great liar. At first she seems fun and personable. Once you step foot on campus she is mean and unapproachable. Very unenjoyable to play for and made me hate softball. Likes to start drama btw players & practices over hr limits!"
"When looking to come here as a recruit, she seemed like a loving great coach but once I got here she changed a lot. It's like she puts on a show for the recruits. Whenever we have a recruit in, she is automatically happier at practice and is easier to approach and talk to. She cares more about her image then her players well being and mental state. She makes people with concussions come to practice and sit there and people that have mono or someone die in their family be at practice."
