"It’s hard to believe watching him coach in 2024 and not thinking “this guy has to be a stand until a basketball coach can be found”. He can't see the talent from player to player, they on a roll and Time Out!! If a player starts doing well and scoring points he subs them out, it’s like when you are fishing in a boat and killing them, last thing you are doing is moving the boat, not him, if you get rebounds, score or anything on the positive you are coming out. Sadly if a coach with this many years under his belt can not see the fundamentals of the game and more importantly his own players talents he never will. We can only hope he’s fired while the program still has time to repair itself "

"Simply Google “Scott Sperone Fitchburg State” and you will find an article that doesn’t even touch the surface as to how he operated as a coach. Harassed us. Broke NCAA rules. Verbally abusive. Did not take care about your time. He would show up late to his own meetings and practices, but punish you if you were late. He called a buddy of mine 84 times one morning because he missed a 6:00am workout after a practice that ended at 11:00pm. He swore at us all the time. Called us ridiculous names. Made fun of people with special needs. Antagonized us at times. Worst coach I have ever played for. Avoid at all costs. I think he is at Kean College in NJ now."
