"This coach will tell you what you want to hear while recruiting you as a player. Then when you show up as a player he acts like he has no idea who you are. He has his favorite 11 players and could care less about developing anyone other than those players. He even separates them out in practice and works only with them- calling on the lesser players only when he needs someone to scrimmage against the "top 11". I have witnessed two "senior banquets" where many of the graduating seniors spoke to how they never got to play, was never even given a chance on the field. He has no idea who the "other 22" players are on the team- what their majors are, who they live with, what their family situation is- nothing. In all of my years playing soccer, I have experienced both amazing and horrible coaches. Coach Wagner is by far the worst because not only is he a horrible coach, he is just not a nice person who does not care about his players."
"I really liked the team and we talked for a long time about both serious things like basketball and campus life as well as simple fun talk which was good"
"Best coach I’ve ever had!! He is truly such a great coach all around. Very knowledgeable of the game!! I always learned something new and got so much better from being coached by him. He always was available to shoot with me and helped me improve my skills greatly. He is very honest but also very encouraging and believes in every single one of his players. Gives great advice for situations on and off the court. He is always there for you when you need to talk and genuinely cares about all his players. He really wants to get to know his players and makes an effort to connect with every single one of them. Super understanding as well!!"
"Coach horning a passionate, caring coach that emphasizes a strong team bond and culture. If you’re looking for a coach that has your best interest, coach horning is the guy you want. He has a 4 pillar system regarding family, academics, athletics and social life. "
"Excellent coach with great success. He listens well, and, along with his staff, works hard for the men on the team both during the entire year as well as post college. Son went through the recruiting process twice (before college and after sophomore year) and Coach Wagner was the best fit for our son. Almost all the tags could apply to him. Team culture is phenomenal especially since the men on team run this aspect and Coach Wagner guides them. Couldn't have had a better experience at any other school. "
"I attended an ID camp at the complex at F&M and the turf field there was very nice. I would recommend going to watch a game or go on a visit if you are interested in the school to see for yourself."
"I was in touch with Coach Spangler in regards to attending an ID camp and he was responsive and communicative until I got to the camp. It was clear I was not in the top list of players and he basically just wanted me there to pay the camp fees. Good experience attending an ID camp but duped by the coach."
"Terrible coach and couldn't care less. The assistant coach Bellersen is even worst, loves getting in students personal life and make snooty remarks about them. Schofield and Bellersen just judge students and treat them accordingly. If you want your personal life being exposed and don't care about tennis F&M is a great option."
"Can't speak highly enough of Coach Horning. He is a consistent winner and exceptional in player development (4 players in the past 2 years have went on to play at D1 programs for their grad year) . Players want to play their hearts out for him due to his accessibility, directness, and true care for everyone top to bottom of the roster. His preparation and attention to detail rubs off on everyone, and players immediately inherit that discipline and work ethic into everything they do. When playing days are over and Day 1 of your first job starts, those qualities instilled from Coach Horning result in being successful in whatever you pursue.
Could go on and on about his excellence in all aspects of what it means to be a college coach, but at the end of the day, if you have an opportunity to play for Coach Horning at the collegiate level, do it. "
"Josh is great. He treats everyone equally, will work with you individually to improve your game and also help you with things outside athletics as well. I would definitely recommend him if anyone is looking at F&M. Go dips!"
"He is extremely dedicated to our team and cares so much not only about the season outcome but how we are doing as people. He is hard to relate to and tends to have favorites which sometimes affects team dynamics. "
"One of the most genuine, knowledgeable coaches I have ever had. He is also in tip top shape and is able to demonstrate and back everything he's telling us to do including ALL of the running. I've never had a college coach that was still a high level player as well as coach."
"Extensive knowledge of the game but sometimes lacks ability to adjust to individual needs of each game; relies more on set plays than abilities of each player to do what is needed in each game"
"Out of touch and not a strong relationship builder. Has low standards for players on and off the court and fails to hold players accountable for mistakes or trouble. Appears accessible but is judgemental of conversations and concerns brought to her by players. Poor leader."
"Does not understand the fundamentals and the strategy of the game. Plays mind games with her players and pins them against each other. Will threaten your position if you do a wrong move or mess up at play. Does not put the academics first. "
"Coach Kaitlyn Eager is an amazing, extremely fair coach. With her has head coach this last season, there has been a very positive shift in team morale. With a more unified team, we have had several successes in the 2017 season, including a conference championship and finishing in the national semifinals. "
"Coach Sumoski is one of the most passionate and dedicated coaches you will ever meet. He provides WWS players with unique and individualized summer programs and is always trying to demand the best out of his players year round- both on and off the field. He is not just a great coach, but a great person, too. "
"I've constantly strived to take my squash to the next competitive level. I've received coaching from some of the world's best coaches but coach Jones still stands out as being one of the best and my favourite. He is incredibly knowledgeable, calm and collected, and persistent in aiding each of his player's to reach their absolute full potential."
"Coach Horning is not only an amazing coach but also an amazing individual. He is there for every single one of his players whether it be an issue at home or at school. I cannot speak enough about his willingness to not only help his players develop as student athletes, but also becoming the best possible person they can. Coach Horning knows so much about the game of baseball, and it has been a pleasure playing baseball at Franklin and Marshall and would not trade it in for anything."
"Best coach I have ever had. Cares about the players and is willing to talk about anything. Very honest about playing time and tells you exactly his reasoning. You may not agree but at least you know where he stands. Coach Horning is extremely knowledgable about hitting, base running and infield defense."
"I think Coach Cav is an incredibly caring Coach with an extensive knowledge for the game. He can relate well with college student-athletes and is an excellent man and coach."
"Coach Kelleher is the best! I wouldn't have chosen F&M if it wasn't for his positive attitude, stress of team atmosphere, and knowledge of the game. He has definitely made my college tennis experience a great one!"
