"Coach Hendricks is knowledgeable and will help you get better at swimming. He does make sure you attend classes. But he will tear you down and use the things that hurt you the most. He will use personal information and lie to cover his track along with breaking health protocols. Terrible experience and not a good coach overall"
"Only prioritizes his athletes that have a chance at going to nationals. Has broken HIIPA to tell unauthorized individuals about injuries and tells women to eat less
Also only swims against bad teams to maintain the record of “best DIII team in indiana” when they consistently lose to both depauw and wabash in invitationals. But he has cancelled all of their dual meets to preserve the title of “undefeated”"
"Encouraging both academically and athletically throughout my 4 years at Franklin College. Helped me break through a plateau by encouraging me to try new things and take risks. Both applicable skills to real life that I don’t go a day without using."
"Overall, the lack of funding for athletics at Franklin College is what is holding their facilities back. It is Division III so it's not like I was expecting much, but Franklin is adamant on renovating the facilities that don't need it rather than building a pool for one of the most successful teams on campus. They got the job done, and you meet a lot of new people in these facilities that bodes well for overall campus and athlete cohesion."
"Some of my best memories have been made as a member of the FC swim team, thanks to Coach Hendricks. While he has very high expectations, he cares about our success both in and out of the pool. He sees the value in being collegiate student athletes and pushes us to do our best each and every day. He creates a team culture unlike any other college program I know and the connections I have created at FC will continue for many years after I graduate. I am thankful to be part of the Grizzly swimming family!"
"My time at Franklin was everything I could’ve ever hoped for plus more. The team atmosphere, lifelong friendships, and so much more are honestly unlike any other program I’ve heard about. I had so many friends swimming at other schools tell me “oh I wish we did that at our school.” I’ll always be proud to be apart of the Franklin College Swimming and Diving Team. "
"Coach Hendricks is everything you could ask for in a college swim coach. He has established a great team culture that brings both current athletes and alumni together. He has proven that he can unlock untapped potential in his athletes leading to championships. He also is committed to helping athletes succeed in the classroom and their future careers. College swimming was the most tremendous experience of my life thanks to Coach Hendricks."
"Coach Hoffman is an extremely caring person and will be more than happy to help any of his athletes with anything they struggle with. Sometimes, he is too caring and doesn’t push hard enough athletically but is one of the best coaches I’ve had. "
"Being on this team can be a lot at times. Coach expects the best from us in every aspect wherever it is academics, athletics, social aspects and relationships, or overall living a healthy lifestyle. He truly cares about each individual but definitely shows his caring through tough love. "
"Coach Hendricks is a personable coach who cares about the success of his team both in and out of the pool. He highly values academics and encourages his team to do the same. "
"Andrew Hendricks is an amazing coach. He is someone you can go to for any issues, and he is there to help. He is intense and takes a while to get to know him, but over a great coach who cares a lot. "
"Everyone respects Coach and though he can be harsh sometimes, it's only because he sees something in us and wants us to do something constructive with our gifts. He has high standards and expects excellence at all times. He is always honest with you, even if it's not something you want to hear, and he knows that hard work and dedication are the only ways to succeed in and out of the pool. Receiving praise from him is certainly an accomplishment because you know that he means it and that you earned it. "
"This is my first year at franklin swimming for him and he brought me to a whole new level of swimming , he was tough on me and didn’t give up on me. He’s an amazing coach with great values and holds us responsible for not just swimming but academically as well. "
"Andrew Hendricks is exactly what you want in a coach. He is extremely knowledgeable about the swimming world and will talk your ear off if you get him started. He expects great academics as much as he expects greatness in the pool. He doesn't go easy on his athletes because he uses every experience as a learning objective that will set you up for the rest of your life. If you're on the team, and you give a 100 percent, you can expect Coach Andrew Hendricks to be a lifelong mentor, supporter and friend. "
"I can't say enough nice things about my visit. I had a great time and everyone I met was so friendly. All the faculty I met seemed cool and inviting. Definitely gave off the impression that everyone here is family and looks out for one another. "
"I can't really say anything bad about the gym and locker room. It's not necessarily up to date but it gets the job done. The gym is a nice size as well and a good atmosphere for games."
"Lack of communication led to little to no pr's. Would tell his runners he was explicitly nervous for them in bigger competitions which led to a lack of confidence amongst many of his runners. Held a lack of knowledge on his runner's strengths. Also had no personality whatsoever. Highly recommend finding a different coach to run for."
