"Coach Emily was such a positive role model for the girls. She always communicated with the girls and even the parents. Coach Emily let families travel and be a part of road trips which doesn’t always happen. My daughter’s experience at George Fox was amazing! The coaches implement a great program while caring for the girls deeply and helping them grow not only in their volleyball skill, but also in their faith. The positive team culture was a direct reflection of her leadership style. I appreciated her direct upfront communication with the girls and where they were in their skills. I could not have chosen a better place, or a better coach for my daughter’s collegiate volleyball career. "
"Emily Davis was a nice person upon first impression, but a terrible coach who didn't seem to care about winning.
Very disorganized and preoccupied with her two very young children (who were taken care of by the athletes at home and on away trips).
She favored the players she thought needed 'saving' while NEGLECTING those who didn't.
She violated multiple Title IX investigation rules without knowing the actual facts.
Several players (including starters) quit or transferred (some to a higher level) due to Emily Davis.
She had no plan for sick or injured players. She actually left a very sick and dehydrated player ALONE for several hours in a Texas AB&B. The player ended up needing and had multiple ER visits and surgery (another player's parent(s) complained to the GFU AD, but nothing came of it).
She assigned players to fulfil her coach's duties.
When asked how to improve on a volleyball skill(s), "Just keep doing what you're doing" is not a good coach's answer.
GFU Volleyball had/has a huge potential to be a great program/atmosphere if it weren't for Emily Davis. "
"Subpar. Lacks in-depth knowledge of the gameplay. His style reminds of the 60-year-old football coach who still thinks its the 60s. Also was not a great mentor off the field. He is not of the pedigree to be a college coach at all and that is not only claimed by me. Numerous other coaches have agreed. "
