"My daughter wanted to transfer to svsu. We had a lot of respect for their program until I heard the story of a former svsu player that went to Davenport. She wouldn’t hit off a tee there and was rude. She got all the freshmen drunk. Talked negatively constantly and was a nightmare from what was told to me by parents on that team. Is that the culture at Saginaw? My daughter played with svsu players and they seemed to not have anything good to say about the girl either. Said she wasn’t a team player and was a know it all with a temper. Wonder why you chose to play such a non team player? With such a talented roster going into the job. Did her dad give you extra money? Is that what college athletics is about now? Paying for playing time and calling it fundraising. People really should do their research before going into programs. I’ve heard these things from many GLIAC programs. I think integrity is a thing of the past. Many players get rewarded for toxic behavior. All for a W. Many programs do so many camps and most of that money goes directly in the coaches pocket not the program. Then the players are forced to donate money aka fundraise. Then it seems the parents that give the most the player gets rewarded. "

"I’ve always wanted to go to GVSU but after seeing some of the people that have recently been recruited there I no longer have any respect for the program. One of my good friends played with a girl at Davenport and some of things she said about her and her parents are eye opening. The girl got in such a nasty fight with her roommate- she recorded it on her phone and sent it to her dad who works for the conference. I can’t believe such a storied program would get involved with athletes like this. The girl stole so much stuff they had to move her to a different dorm then at the end of the year they found so many empty alcohol bottles in her dorm. I know GVSU lost their catcher to Siena Heights but there was so many more people in the portal waiting for a chance. It’s sad how such disrespectful people, that lie and cheat get ahead. I also think GVSU softball is on the decline do to the athletes they are recruiting. "

"Recruits toxic players that misuse prescription drugs, sleeps with every guy in sight and lies about everything. Must have thought having someone on the inside of the conference would help push her agenda. The girl hit .180. I heard her mommy called and was rude about wanting more money. This program is on the decline. Beware who your teammates will be. I heard she liked to steal stuff. "
"Hands down one of the best coaches that I have had through out all sports that I’ve ever played! Expects a lot from players but gives them every tool to achieve those goals "
"Of all the coaches I have had, Coach Mac has been the best. She leads with not only her smarts but also her heart. If I could do it all over again, I would 100% pick coach Mac. She is the best and I love her. "
"The assistant coach does most of the work from practices to recruiting. It was frustrating because she makes decisions that are not based on statistics. Coach doesn't seem to value hard work. "

"A lot of your alumni tell stories of you and your staff allowing them to drink on the bus after winning the conference tournament. This is concerning to me as a travel ball coach. SVSU is a program I hold in high regard but it’s hard for me to continue to do so when multiple girls mention this…. in a bragging way. I don’t think that is a culture that should be celebrated. "

"Didn’t put her best player up for player of the year. As a family we think completely different of this program and you now! You robbed a kid of an even bigger legacy than she already had! Sorry Lydia you deserved better. "

"Inappropriate with my teammates. We weren’t very good overall and he didn’t help us get any better. Not knowledgeable as a coach and tried to date my roommate. Love seeing his twitter posts that give advice though. Mind boggling. "

"I thought GV was a prestigious school to play for. Recruited my teammate that stole my teammates clothes and food. Worst teammate I’ve ever been around. Lazy and expects her parents to fix all her problems. Fake crying on TikTok for attention was hilarious. All lies for her friends that we recruited her to do. Can’t believe I ever wanted to go to GV. "
"Jerry is the best! I can’t think of of a college coach that has been able to consistently get more output from the talent on the team. He’s the best in the biz at unlocking an athlete’s potential. He’s also laser focused on an excellent culture that feels like a family. "
"One of the most honest coaches you will ever meet. He believes in you and will not stop giving everything he can to help you find success on the track and in the classroom. He just asks for one thing in return, and that is to be committed! He is personable, funny, and super motivating. Not only does he care about you as an athlete, he also cares about you as a person and is someone you can talk to about anything."
"I thought he was the best coach I ever had in my career. He committed his life to it and expected you to work just as hard. He loves the game and has true passion for the it. He makes you work for it and encourages you. Also very easy to talk too. "
"Very good soccer coach, he is incredibly knowledgeable at the game and knows how to play to the strengths of his current team. He doesn't always handle off the field issues the best but he always comes from a good place and never has malicious intent. He is deeply invested on our growth as people, as students, and as players. "
"Although he may not be liked by everyone, I have built a great relationship with Jeff. He will do anything for you but first, you must show that you will work hard. It is a two-way street. He wants what is best for you and will help you get there. "
"Best coach I’ve ever played for. So knowledgeable and inspiring. He encourages his players to grow and learn as much as possible, on and off the field. "
"Fantastic coach who i have learned a lot from. He runs a program with high standards of success on and off the field. He pushes us to be better players, but cares more about how we grow as students and people. I’ve learned a lot about myself and my values from having him as my coach."
"He cares immensely about his players beyond the soccer field. Knowledgeable, personable, motivational- I have truly valued my time learning and playing under him these past few years. He sometimes may seem over involved or intense but it's because he sees so much potential in his players and cares about their journey on and off the field."
