"An experienced rower and coach. He has seen and done it all. Remains calm, wants the best for the athletes, helps them to achieve. He knows this sport inside and out. He builds a competitive team from the middle of the country where there aren’t many rowers. "
"Solid coach who knows how to recruit high-level players. Trusts his players at an elite-level and puts them in high pressure situations early in their career. Does not bail on his players."
"Coach Stanton is one of the best in the game. If you didn’t like her, it probably has more to do with YOU & Your work ethic than anything she did or said. She will do anything & everything to help you succeed on & off the field. Grades are massively important, but being a better person when you leave her program is the most important thing to her. I’m extremely grateful for Stanton & her staff, I’m not sure I’d have a degree or the coaching career I have without them. She’s one of those coaches who will push you past your limits to help you realize your talent. Once you’ve made it through her program, you realize you really can achieve anything you set your heart to. I frequently tell stories to my current athletes about her, nothing but respect for Coach. "
"Habitual liar. Another coach that claims to care but only ever took care of her favorite players. Go to her church, baby sit her kids and you are a starter. Claimed publicly to talk and get feedback from parents ? Never heard from her in 2 years. Her record doesn’t back up her ego. "
"Steve has been at IU for 20 years, and he is so dedicated to the program and every athlete he coaches. He’s an Olympic rower and draws on his experience to present an understanding and motivating coaching style. He can definitely disengage with drama on the team, but you can count on him to be honest, caring, and encouraging. "
"Always wants and does what is best for players. Great person and coach. Pushes you to be your best and professionally runs a very competitive environment."
"Ray Looze cares more about you as an asset instead of a person. He is a great salesman and makes you feel like a top priority as a recruit but when you are on the team you either perform or you are ignored and not cared about. He believes in old school type of training and the workouts are intense. There is a high turnover rate of coaches."
"The most technical and passionate coach I have ever seen. Drew is very forward thinking and does a lot of groundbreaking things for the sport of diving. Also cares so much about each and every one of his athletes and makes sure to have a good relationship with everyone. "
"Drew is hands down the best coach in the United States. Besides being the two time head Olympic diving coach, he has also led IU Diving to greatness. Other than his coaching ability, he is a great mentor and treats all of his athletes like his own children. "
"Drew is hands down the most important person I've met in my life. Outside of the pool, he has shaped me from a freshman kid into a professional adult that is prepared to work diligently in the professional world. Inside of the pool, he took my diving from what look like rec league, into a position that I could dive in trials. Drew is the GOAT. "
"He treats his players as if they were his own kids. He cares about the develop off the field just as much as he cares about the development on the field. If you are lucky enough to play for Jeff Mercer I would recommend playing for him in a heartbeat. "
"One of the worst college experiences ever. Would not tell my enemy to play for coach moren. Heavily plays favorites, blames everything on assistants and players..contacted other schools to ask if coaches wanted some of the players she didnt want for the next season. can think of up to 15 players that quit or transferred. Not a great communicator"
"The least understanding coach in NCAA Division I wrestling. Does not value his wrestlers opinions, wants, or needs. Tries to have his wrestlers come back from injury before they are cleared. Has had multiple incidences at Indiana University where he has almost been fired because of incidences with roughness and threats toward his athletes."
"He is extremely passionate about water polo and does not take his position as our coach for granted. He is super motivational and will do anything to make sure his players not only succeed in the pool but in life as well."
