"Coach Jackie and Coach U are the best assistants we have ever had. They are both player focused, about development, and helping us grow . Couldn’t ask for better people to talk to, laugh with and learn from. All love to them for dedicating their time and believing in us. "
"Takes no accountability for her own actions just blames her players and coaches. Always late, lazy and has poor communication. Places blame on everything except the root of the problem…her. Didn’t show up for the beginning of our senior day, which hurt for the seniors who put up with 4 years of her roller coaster coaching. She doesn’t care at all about us. She’s completely unorganized and delusional about herself. She constantly talks about herself and is the first person to put players and coaches down. She likes the power of being the head coach but provides us with absolutely zero leadership or structure. A dad could walk into this job and do better because it’s evident she does not care. It has been clear admin doesn’t care about the softball program at all but allowing a consistently negative coach who has zero practice plan, structure or accountability to continue having power over players and assistants is toxic. She’s had 5 assistant coaches in 5 years and I’ve been here for 3 of them. Once players start to gravitate to the assistants which they always do she becomes very jealous. It’s frustrating her lack of accountability and favoritism towards players. Some players can make constant mistakes and never be taken out and some can make one mistake, be ridiculed in front of the team and then never put into the lineup again. Her inconsistency coaching and her lack of ability to develop our pitchers is hard to watch. She makes pitchers throw all the same way and it does not work. If you’re a pitcher, you will get worse if you come here. She holds grudges with pitchers and will go weeks without talking to them but if you are her favorite because you go ask her pointless questions, she will give you a pitching lesson during practice - even when you’re not a pitcher. It’s so bizarre the behavior that is continued to be allowed. At this point…it really is a joke and a waste of time."
"This season Coach Jackie has been awesome. I thank god her and Coach U were here for us and were instrumental in our development with the little the head coach let them do. I learned a lot from her and our team was blessed to have assistant coaches that cared about us as people on and off the field. Both coaches are kind, professional, and dedicated their time to us selflessly. They made our environment positive and fun even when they weren’t treated all that well. That didn’t go unnoticed by us. The love and passion they brought to us in a rough year is what makes their character standout the most. I will forever cherish my time with both of them. "
"Coach Jackie has been awesome. Both of our assistants this year have been amazing. Coach Jackie has been there for us every step of the way and has been an awesome person to get to know and talk to. We love her and I don’t want her to leave. She’s funny, kind and has helped us so much defensively this year. "
"The coaching approach has shown a clear pattern of favoritism. Certain players were consistently kept in the same positions and lineup spots regardless of repeated errors or performance issues. These players were rarely corrected, held accountable, or given opportunities to improve specific weaknesses in practice.
At the same time, other players were not given meaningful chances to step into those roles, limiting both individual growth and the team’s overall potential.
This lack of flexibility led to predictable outcomes, with the same mistakes recurring and no visible adjustments being made. It was especially frustrating given the amount of talent on the team—there is real potential here, but it is not being developed effectively.
Additionally, there was obvious tension within the coaching staff the past 2 years. Two more than capable assistant coaches were present this year as well but, they were not given the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to player development. This limited the support and instruction available to the athletes.
Concerns about leadership style also stood out. There was little accountability taken when things went wrong, with blame often shifting elsewhere.
The coaches backhanded remarks toward players were frequently hurtful, lacked constructive intent, and were inappropriate.
Practices often lacked structure and intensity, and despite significant fundraising efforts, the program still seems under-equipped for a competitive level of play.
Overall, this experience has been disappointing, especially for players who have dedicated their final years to the program. With stronger leadership, openness to collaboration, and a more balanced approach to player development, this team could achieve so much."
