"She loves coaching I will give her that, but when it comes to knowledge and understanding of the game and strategies that will work for the personnel on the team, the coaching staff lacks in proper execution. There is heavy favoritism that you will see within a month of playing for her. She is honest, though once she has a thought in her head about you there is no changing it. I personally feel as though I was one of the hardest workers to have gone through the team and consistently showed my dedication and hard work off the field, but was unable to sway her in my favor. I was apart of this team for 2 years and began the transfer process, before I was able to complete the process she cut me. The 2 years I was on the team were genuinely the worst 2 years of my life, I put my body through hell and fought the feeling of never being enough because of the way I was treated on this team. She consistently emphasizes the importance of fitness, but is contradicted by the lack of on the team. Another thing to highlight is a question I asked her during my recruitment process which was, “How many girls transfer out of your program,” she said one in 10 years. Through my time on the team I learned that question was the wrong one to ask and I should have asked something along the lines of, “ How many girls stay on your program from freshman year to senior year?” As noted in one of the previous reviews you can see that she is heavy on cutting culture, cutting 2 or more girls a season. I do not believe this makes a healthy team culture. ANOTHER THING TO NOTE IS MENTAL HEALTH DOES NOT MATTER. I was cut the Friday before spring finals began and have friends who were cut Monday before fall classes began. I whole heartedly believe that you should do more research before deciding to play for this program and also evaluate how badly you want to play college soccer because from what I have learned there are many other D3 toxic women’s soccer programs that also do a great job at hiding their coaching staffs true colors."
"Never seen a collegiate coach so calm and collected on sidelines. Prepares her team during practices and lets them play. Refreshing not to see a coach screaming and hollering all game. "
"Deb is without a doubt the best coach I ever played for. There is a reason she is an NFCA hall of fame coach. She understands the game better than anybody I’ve ever met. She is always looking for ways to improve despite already being great, and she holds herself and her team to a very high standard. Deb is tough, but fair and caring. She would do anything for her players. I became a better player and a better person because I played for her. "
"Most disingenuous person I’ve ever met. Doesn’t give a damn about his wrestlers and is fake as they come. Also hates anyone with poor mental health. If Ithaca wasn’t such a great school this dude would have no success. He also only makes money cause his coach gave him rental properties and he mooches money off students."
"We could not be more pleased to have Coach Wah coaching our daughter. She is genuine person who runs an amazing program. Creates an environment to develop and succeed on and off the field. "
"Coach Batson is an incredibly knowledgeable coach who really does his best with each individual player. He takes his time with each athlete and is very direct and helpful. He is a great guy and an even better coach."
"Coach Raymond cares for his players like we are his own children. He is a very smart coach and knows the game very well. I admire how he has stuck with IC for over 20 years dedicating his career here. He is pushes you to be your best because he is good at seeing the potential in everyone."
"Struggles communicating with players about issues off the field. Tends to favorite certain players. Cares more about the outcome of the game than how her players feel emotionally and mentally. "
"Coach Nichols is an unsympathetic and unkind coach that overtrains his athletes. Nichols considers athletes that can’t run due to injury as not part of the team and gives them a hard time for being injured. He doesn’t care about his athletes as people, as they only appear as a product to him. All he cares about is winning but makes it harder to win"
"picks favorites and then dismisses the rest of the team. pretends to be nice and then screams at players for not doing exactly what she asks. asks questions and doesn’t like to hear the responses. "

"Coach Quigg is an incredible human being and an even better coach. She cares about cultivating her players on and off the field. She can be your best friend and motivational coach all at the same time. "
"One of the most intense but knowledgable coaches I have ever worked with, her personal success in the field of rowing and as a coach have all added to her ability to shape novice walk ons in to top performers."
"My time on this team ruined the entirety of the sport for me. It used to be a safe place for me but I soon realized that the coach was more interested in stirring up drama than the sport itself. He pegged girls against each other and lacked the ability to correct us on our skills or have us condition which inevitably lead to defeat and injuries. "
"Coach Batson loves the game of golf, and it's clear that he enjoys coaching college student-athletes. He's relatively new to coaching, so I'm sure his style will evolve over time."
"Her actions don't match her words. Doesn't follow through with what she says. Constantly reassures players that shes there for them/cares about them but never actually makes time. Lacks accountability/always has an excuse when things don't work out, never admits fault. Hotheaded. Doesn't take feedback well. Has ruined the game for multiple players."
"Don't agree with any of her philosophies. Can't trust her to keep her word. Doesn't actually care about athletes when she said she does. Makes you feel guilty for everything. Wish this was a better experience."
"emotionally abused many athletes on the team and bullied them (lots of them have quit), made me think very negatively about myself and my role on the team and ruined the sport for me for the rest of my life"
"does not seem to care about other players, but pays attention to the ones she likes. many players have quit. was not what i was told it would be. do not recommend at all."
"I love playing for Karrie. She is a great coach, and I have learned so much in the past two years from her. So happy I get one more with her and our amazing team! "
"One of the worst coaches I have ever had. She does not take feedback well and takes honesty as an attack when she says she likes it. She is disrespectful to players and parents and not appreciative at all. She takes advantage of bench players too and gives them false hope of playing. I do not recommend her to anyone."
"Knowledgable, but inconsistent and changes things constantly; tries to change you. Has a bad temper - not good for the team. If we have a bad day she gets very mad and makes it all about her. She is trying to be a college athlete again. Always plays favorites and if you are not one of them, she forgets about you. I do not recommend her as a coach."
"She plays favorites and treats everyone else like crap. Doesn't understand that we have lives outside of softball that we can be upset about. If you're a bench player don't even expect her to glance in your direction. "
"worst coach ever- she has driven countless athletes away from the program and the sport. she should've gotten fired a long time ago. i would definitely not recommend her."
"There are ups and downs. Mostly downs. Plays favorites to say the least and is very unpredictable. Does not matter how hard you work because if she does not like you then you most likely will not play; some people are handed spots. And if you make one little mistake that she does not like she will pull you and you will not get playing time. There is usually no reasoning for why you are not playing either. She only cares about some players and it is very obvious. The bad times outweigh the good."
"plays favorites. inconsistent attitude/philosophies. one of the least approachable people ever. gets angry/frustrated easily and takes it out on her players. pins players against each other and sets some up for failure. knows a lot about the game, but is too intense for this level. would not recommend, especially if you are a catcher."
"Not understanding at all or willing to work with athletes around standard issues. Has a flawed philosophy on team dynamics and doesn't appreciate nor understand the nuances of team togetherness. Do not recommend this coach."
"Coach Shalett has made me love playing softball again. She knows that there is a line between fun and silly, and keeps us all focused in practice while letting us have fun at the same time."
"The facilities at Ithaca are super nice for D3. Arguably best in the Liberty League. The only downside is that the soccer field is pretty hard and bumpy. The field is also pretty far away from the actual facility. "
"To be honest, I rowed in highschool and thought I wanted to row in college and I looked at Ithaca and it just wasn't that great to me facilities wise to be honest, nothing was too great about it"
"My experience with Mindy was not the best. I never felt like she really liked me. She definitely has favorites on the team. She would keep girls that couldn’t complete fitness test while cutting girls that did complete it during preseason I got hurt and was on crutches for a couple days and then was cleared to play the day. I got cleared to play the day I got caught in her reasoning was that the freshmen were taller than me even though it was the same height when she recruited me in the first place, on top of that my freshman class be at 12 girls and then our senior year ended up having three girls from the start at one transfer and it’s a continued cycle because my freshman year the senior class had I believe 14 girls and only three girls ended up completing the program. another time when I was stretching, she stood over me and said to me this isn’t the experience that you thought you were going to have huh and I just replied not exactly but I’m learning a lot because I didn’t know how to respond in that time"
