"Im not one to bad mouth a program at all, but given the experience I had here and many other players did, I think it should be known to those thinking about attending Lassen. First off, I was promised to get developed. That's what junior college is about right? Wrong. I got redshirted about halfway through the fall, with many others. 10-15. Since I got redshirted we did not practice with the squad at all. Sent to the batting cages everyday at practice with no coaching. I did not get coached personally on my swing once throughout the fall and spring. Lots of development clearly. If you are trying to get developed do not come here it simply will not happen. I transferred to a different school in the GVC and am getting developed and seeing first hand what a program that really cares about its players is like. If you're not worried about development then go here, not the best experience and I know I speak for many others with this. Would recommend looking at other programs in the conference, lots of false promises and lies here."
"Feel like I was lied to- talked about using lots of cool equipment, improvement, etc. I regressed and came to hate the sport. Never threw a baseball further than 120 feet. Terrible arm management, near zero development happening under him. If you do not have the measureables already through the roof, it is not worth it. Wanted to go somewhere else after this but couldn’t even lob a baseball because my elbow was so destroyed. "
"I'm speaking for pretty much everybody in my recruiting class who went through that insane program, it's a total waste of time. We grinded for months at a time practicing for 6-7 hours a day at a point, and for what? Just for 2/3 of the class to get let go at the end of the season. If you're a redshirt good luck, you need to find a remote-hitting coach because the only help they're going to give you is making you tougher because of all of the ridiculous conditioning, workouts, and other stupid things you have to do for the team. And man, I have not seen so many pitchers deal with arm issues and dips in their velocity. In my experience as a pitcher, the only person who even bothered to help me with my mechanics or pitches was my OEAMMATE. Everything I did to try and better myself would result in it being used as ammunition for the coaches to chirp me. I wasn't allowed to throw with decent baseballs because "I did not pitch good enough in the fall" so I was stuck throwing with old cage baseballs. Another experience I had was the first day of weights when I got threatened to get cut just because I was not as physically developed as other players there. This program kills the love of baseball for everybody there. and honestly after transferring it put into perspective how big of a disaster this program is, I finally play for a team that cares about me and wants the best out of me which was a major adjustment."
