"Higg was a great leader and was learning a lot when I was there. She is a great person to be around, very competitive and is always growing her knowledge of the game. "
"Boo is one the most caring coaches you will ever interact with. Her knowledge of the game is awesome and she pushes you to be the best every day. She was an All-American and knows her stuff. Her life is centered around her family and Christ and you can tell how it translates to her coaching style"
"One of the beset people I have ever interacted with. Not only has she had success in the past, she is always looking for a way to build the program. She cares about you as a human and is very approachable. "
"overall good team experience! locker room is not up to date and is small! fueling station is small! could use some updates on stuff! soccer field is on campus but practice field is off campus. "
"i went on a visit to lipscomb, she was so nice, super motherly and awesome. I loved everything about her and how she treated me, i just found a better fit at another school, had nothing to do with the awesome coaching staff at Lipscomb. "
"She's a great coach who really cares about her players. She's very direct and intense, so if that's not something you're used to, it can be an adjustment and takes some time getting used to her coaching style. I was intimated by her for a while until I got to know her as a coach. Once I did, she turned into a very good coach to me. "
"One of the best coaches I've had. Had a great career playing, and will have a great career coaching. Super knowledgeable about the game. She knows how to relate things to players to make drills and concept easier to understand. "
"Super great coach. I had her as my GA in college super knowledgeable about the game of softball and has such a deep compassion for her players and the game. She played a big role in my recruiting process and she was so helpful every step of the way. Great coach with a bright future. "
"She was so caring and kind. Truly wanted what was best for me when I decided to enter the portal due to an injury that was affecting more than just softball. Still talks to me even after transferring. "
"I went over the summer, so there wasn't very many athletes there. Coaches are amazing and the campus was in a great spot. Overall, I really liked the vist!"
"A fun head coach with serious side. Help the program be a successful and all is good. If you are not at a top level...it might feel like he does not care. But he actually does! Wasn't a starter and played limited minutes, but felt valued! I went on the annual missions trip to El Salvador and saw OB as a person and that helped. He has insecurities like we all do. He is flawed like we all are. But his heart for his players is unmatched. He want's each of us to experience Jesus in an authentic way. He admits mistakes and apologizes...that's rare. If you want a sports ministry experience...Lipscomb is the place. If you want a mid major that is only about winning, this wont be your cup of tea. It's a (small and personal) faith based D1 that can play with the top team in NCAA D1. But don't go to Lipscomb if you want to party!"
"Seriously one of the best coaches and people ever. If you have the opportunity to play for Brandon, take it. Super knowledgeable about the game and really does care for his players. He makes an effort to keep in touch with his players even after they’ve graduated as well. Can’t say enough good things about him."
"Enjoyed transferring from a P5 school to Lipscomb. Thought it would be easy, but it was not!!! Coaches are knowledgable and push players towards success, but it was as tough as the P5 I left...The coaches have a fun environment, but is crazy competitive. Fall short of the expectations and you will not play. I struggled with the expectations of this mid-major, but it ultimately drove me to being my best and experiencing a fulfilling career as a D1 athlete."
"Transferred here and was blown away with the culture. Girls love Jesus and can compete with the best in the area. We beat SEC teams and frequently are dancing in the NCAA's. I think this program is an outlier in the D1 landscape. We are in and incredible city (Nashville) and play at a top, top level (better than most P5's). I can see this program going to multiple NCAA's in the future. Go Bisons!"
"Saw our coach getting average reviews and was frustrated! He is a great coach. He prioritizes our wellbeing, And compared to the rest...is incredible! He is a transformational coach that loves Jesus and loves to win. He see's our success increasing our platform! We have fun. Are good. And have a caring coaching staff that loves us. We are blessed indeed. "
"As an injury prone athlete, coach Polk was always willing to switch things up a bit to keep me from being banged up - whether cross training or mixed surface running."
"Awesome. He is the epitome of what a coach should be. He doesn't play favorites the hardest workers play and he is very kind. God is at the center of everything we do. He is also very reflective and admits when he makes a mistake before you need to say it which is very unique and in all my years I have never seen. "
