" Discusses her past volleyball career more than she discusses yours. She has a lot of prejudice of players ability. Treated players unfairly. She only played people she knew. Would not teach and rarely coached. I played volleyball since childhood but unfortunately I lost access to my account with videos and stats. I asked for a try out but instead she said no, would not let me play, and still took my money. I felt used. She deliberately and systematically discredited my abilities to the team which lead to them adopting a negative mindset of me as well without ever seeing me play. I felt isolated in a place where I went to belong. Blamed the team for the losses when there was lacking of guidance/coaching. She also, constantly yelled at individuals. Personally did not seem like a bad person, but I was not given a fair chance. Its not a D1 school its a community college.
"Community college sports are meant to be competitive while also providing student-athletes with opportunities for skill development and advancement to four-year schools. They are governed by organizations like the NJCAA and emphasize a balance between athletics and academics, with coaches helping players refine skills and scouts often attending games to recruit talent. These programs are also intended to foster a sense of community and institutional pride among students, staff, and the local area. "
Instead the gym was for peppering. All players are not treated equally or allowed to play. I shagged balls for weeks with the promise of getting the opportunity to practice and play. It did not happen, and not for lack of skill. She spoke down to me. The players who had good experiences were local that she knew and gave a fair chance. Out of state players, older players, Veterans will have a hard time with this coach. She does not give opportunities to show skill level even if you're great. If low skill level, it will be even worse because she will not coach or help develop skills. I transferred to another school and it was like night to day. She might be an accomplished volleyball player herself; but she should not be a coach."
