"Plays favorites and dos not develope or coach. Deflates players. Not organized. Cage and other tools have been broken and no repair. Run to another team as fast as you can. "
"created a horrible team culture. Many players have left the program. The record year in and year out reflects how bad the coaching is. No accountablity from the coaches' side. During my time there, i even witnessed abusive tendencies from both jenna dingler and her assisstant at that point. Practices were chaotic and unstructured. games were chaotic and we had no real plan. In my class we all noticed immediately that our high school teams were better than this joke of a team, with way better coaching, better facilities, better team play, and chemistry. this is not a real D1 program. the other teams all laughed at us and made jokes about us. having talked to another team we played out of conference, we found out that the seniors on that team took shots before playing against us. that is with how little seriousness our opponents treat playing us. We are/were the joke on everyone's game schedule. if you are committed here or are considering going here, do yourself a favor and do not. find a better school to commit to or just be happy playing club at a bigger school! good luck! 0/10 would recommend, you are wasting your time and potential here!"
"Who is truly responsible for creating a great team culture? It’s not just the coach. It literally takes everyone on the team to foster that every day. Way too often do we come on sources like this to complain. Complaining makes a culture worse. Take accountability and truly create the culture you say you want. It’s that easy. If your main goal is to complain and point out coaches shortcomings you are literally creating the toxic culture you are complaining about!"
"I graduated last season. Coach Sage is a true leader and cares about players success on and off the field. He is building a family like atmosphere within the team. "
"Athletic complex is a bit off campus, you can walk there but the area is not very safe and gross. The locker rooms are good, trainers are never available, no fueling station or athlete specific dining hall. No benefits really to being an athlete at Manhattan tbh except you get to say you play a D1 sport but even my own teammates would say any NESCAC D3 school could easily beat us. The field is not owned by the school so you can’t just go whenever because more often than not it will be occupied by other teams from other schools or the GAA or closed. There also only is ONE field. I would walk over there so much to do extra work and it’s always either closed or occupied which was such a pain, because I needed the extra reps because our practices were useless.
A bigger training room, a practice field or even just a schedule to see when it’s open and a fueling station would help.
Imo the facilities don’t meet the standards for a D1 school."
"The campus was really cool and the facilities were really up to date especially for indoor track throwing. The coach gave off a weird vibe and it didnt help that the trip was mainly with him. "
"It was honestly like being an unwanted child. We got nothing. News articles and meet results came out as late as a month after the fact. Manhattan College tries to promote itself as a strong supporter of all its sports, but sadly its more of a mild toleration outside of basketball."
