"Coach Gregg is the worst coach you will EVER experience. just in one year he has made 17 girls quit softball and lose the love of the sport ,if you are not his favorite or do not "fit" in his "piece of his puzzle" he will act like you dont even exist and treat you like dirt. From personal experience save your time for another school and DONT commit here its the biggest waste of time and will ruin your mentality for softball. Girls could write so much about their experience and he still wont change. His time needs to be up in the program and with coaching but he will never realize it. When recruiting girls he makes it seem like you will play and be on the "Varsity" team and say all these amazing things to hype you up and the program, we all fell for it and came to Northwood in shock with how the truth really is. if you do commit good luck and be aware you can never tell if he is joking or being serious with you and will make you feel dumb. He truly is not a coach anyone would want and we all dont get how he is still able too with how many girls leave and complain he is a master manipulator through and through. "
"Makes big promises and lies to players. Seen hostility to other coaches and umps. Many times is threatened to get kicked out of games. Plays favorites and lets good talented players sit entire seasons with no explanation and they are not allowed to ask him why. If he’s sweet talking you to play for him walk away!"
"Coach Rogers was recruiting my daughter. He drove to Pinehurst to watch her play in a tournament. We walked together the entire round. It was like we had known each other for years, nicest person. Knowledgeable, honest, easy going yet direct. Ultimately my daughter went to another college strictly due to location and her major. Of all the coaches we met throughout the 18 month process, Coach Rogers was the only one that I hoped she would played for. "
"Marcus is amazing. He knows the throws and more importantly he has a knack for taking complex ques and conveying them to us in a way that each of us understand. Beyond that, it is amazing having a coach that cares more about you as a human then you as an athlete."
"This coach is very misleading with recruiting process - telling you thing that you want to hear.
not prepared for practices or games, practices are like practices you would have in 7th grade and leading the volleyball program down.
"
"I spent four years having to obey this man. Unfortunately he never earned my respect throughout those years, so faking a smile was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. This man ruined my love for volleyball physically and mentally. He loved to test us and defeat us mentally. Not a role model or someone to look up to.Get out while you still can. "
"Ruined the game of volleyball for me. Led us to have the worst record in school history. Please don't come to NU for volleyball if this man is coaching."
"Not a good coach. Not a good guy. If I could single-handedly try to save everyone who considers to have this man be a part of their life, I would. As for parents, this man will not consider your child's well being. Stay away. "
"Ruined the grit and dirty ness of football for me personally. This coach acts like they know what they are doing but in reality could not draw up a defensive or offensive play call. Does not understand high pressure situations or what is best for the team. This coach is very hard to relate to. Relies heavily on his coaching staff. "
"Dave Schumaker is a very deceiving coach. He fails to practice what he preaches. He does not set high standards for his team and is not a role model to look up to. His mind is very closed and he is stuck in his ways of following 'philosophy'. He lacks social skills and the ability to be a leader. Don't recommend. "
