"My son is a first year and loves Coach P. He is straight forward passionate about the team. He already gave my son a nickname which my son loves!
He's got a young family which can pull on his time once in a while but that's understandable. Overall so far a great experience for my son."
"Patrick Ferguson is one of the worst coaches I have ever played under. I have never hated myself and soccer more in my life. When I first met with coach Ferguson he seemed like a great, well rounded coach, but he quickly proved me wrong. He is incredibly emotionally abusive, dishonest, unsupportive, negative, and he diminishes all passion for soccer when you play for him. He comments on players weight. He avoids saying hi to players on campus and ignores them. He calls players sensitive. He encourages players to say bad things about their teammates. He lacks honestly and communication skills unless you are his favorite. He does not care about injured players. He does not care about players mental health. If you play for coach Ferguson you will lose all self confidence and love for soccer. "
"Good guy, good football coach. However he only cares about what the program looks like to recruits instead of what it means to be a battling bishop. Never talked down on a player. "
"She wants feedback but when we give it to her she shuts us down, she doesn’t coach fairly, has obvious favorites, doesn’t give everyone a chance, and she talks bad about players behind our back. "
"I really think that this guy does not know what he’s talking about. Lifting coach at OWU, doesn’t know how to lift at all. Very small guy who pretends to be big. Makes being from Texas his personality. Ok guy to talk too though but just not a GREAT football COACH"
"the best person I have ever met. roisin has made the biggest impact on my life and she never was really technically my coach. she always knew how to cheer me up and I cant even begin to describe how much she means to me."
"-11 assistant coaches in 4 years
-Disorganized with no set practice times
-Poor communication
-Poor at scheduling tough games outside our conference
-Treats seniors poorly and doesn’t respect seniority in the food chain.
-My son started with 19 freshman and graduated with only 6 players. That’s pretty telling.
-Badgers players when academics gets in the way of practice.
-We had a very poor experience for 4 years there.
-OWU needs to find a new head coach to build the program back to what it used to be."
"Jay is the winningest coach in NCAA soccer history. His ability to motivate players and knowledge of the game is second to none. He and his program build young men on and off the field. "
"Very fair in playing time and gives everyone an opportunity to prove themselves on the team. A fun and understanding coach, but can get serious when necessary. One of my favorite coaches I've had while participating in this sport."
"She's a great coach and definitely understands the importance of academics being first priority since it is a D3 school, but she also pushes every single player to their full potential. She's very approachable and easy to talk to about anything!"
"Dr. Paige Messersmith is the reason I am alive. She has helped me grow so much as a player and a person. When I was going through personal struggles she was one of my biggest supports. She encouraged me while I learned to take better care of myself physically, mentally, and otherwise. She has taken me to the hospital on more than one occasion. She has given me advice countless times. She is an overall immaculate human being. She is humble and smart and kind and caring and silly and honest and all the good things. Sometimes her husband will bring their dog to practice and it always brightens our day. She finds ways to make practice challenging but fun and gives us space to be goofy at times but also holds us accountable to being serious when necessary. She wants us to get better as players and people, and guides us in that journey each and every day, in every way she knows how, on and off the field. 10/10 coach."
"Doesn’t care about the well being of his players. Business man aspect of coaching, not the leader you would look for in a HFC. Good guy though, nice to talk to."
