"Coach Kegg has coached hundreds of All Americans and academic all Americans for a reason. He’s a superior coach and quality person. Both his men’s & women’s teams are great because he expects and coaches excellence. You can always talk to him about anything. He has coached Olympic qualifiers. Kegg is very knowledgeable, kind, but has high expectations. If you are not willing to work or follow the rules then find someone else to run for. "
"I think confusing is the best word to describe my visit. I planned to visit, go for a run with the team, and see the campus, and when I got there, the coach gave me a piece of paper and basically made it sound like he was my only option. I love the campus, but my tour guide was really off-course. He sat in a dorm room for an hour just chatting with us, and when I asked to see other campus housing, he pointed out the window and up the hill and said "there it is!" We only saw maybe three buildings"
"Coach Kegg has built a very successful program by giving time to each individual and working with them to reach their best. Proud to have had a chance to run for him."
"Very direct. If he doesn’t like or respect you, you will know. If you want to talk, you go to him. He doesn’t reach out to athletes unless you are his favorite. Come here if you want the worst experience in collegiate sports. "
"Coach Kegg is one of the best in college coaching for a reason- he genuinely cares about the well being of his athletes of any ability and will give you a framework to build your own success. The rest is up to you!"
"Coach Kegg has received the NAIA Coach of the year award for good reason. He care intensely about his athletes as people & students. He’s coached over 300 All Americans & over 800 Academic All Americans. If you buy in to his program you will succeed to a high degree. "
"Jack Kegg is what you'd expect from any high level, well-performing college cross country team. He is serious about his craft and wants his athetes to perform to their best ability. "
"Coach Kegg is intense but a great Coach. He really knows what he is doing when it comes to running. As long as you put in the hard work and dedication to the program you will succeed. The team rules are in place for a reason. If you can't follow them, then your team won't be successful. "
"Coach Kegg has an unparalleled depth of knowledge and experience. He produces Champions of every type and from any background. I couldn't recommend him enough. "
"Coach Kegg has been coaching for a long time and really understands college athletics. Running for him was such a great experience. He really turned me into the runner and man I am today."
"Jack Kegg is both an inspirational and knowledgeable coach. Not only has he coached numerous national champions and all-Americans but his coaching success extends to developing athletes at all levels. He took me from a very undeveloped athlete to a level I never imagined I would compete at and instilled in me a love for running and coaching."
"There is a good reason Kegg has coached over 300 All-Americans in his tenure; Jack lives and breathes a growth mindset and a never-settle mentality. Those who dedicate themselves to his training plan will become successful, while those who are just in it to collect scholarship will not. This coach believes in you more than you believe in yourself."
"Jack is a mature, experienced, and knowledgeable coach. He deeply cares for athletes' wellbeing, and encourages athletes' success beyond sports. Jack believes success in athletics happens when the rest of life is balanced, and he is especially talented in mentoring athletes to create that. This comes at a cost for some who don't align ."
"Coach Kegg is a legend. He has not only made me better runner, he has made me a better person. What he teaches in running applies to life. He’s more than willing to listen and talk with you. What he’s not going to stand for is pettiness, disrespect and immaturity. He’s intense, but guess what.. that’s college athletics… gotta buckle up buttercup."
"I would not be the runner I am today without Coach Kegg. He is intense but he knows what he is doing. He writes his own traininf plan and sticks to it, it's very easy to understand. I have never had any major injuries under his coaching. Only little aches and pains. He helps professors by proctoring our quizzes while traveling. Overall, great Coach"
"Terrible coach. Rude to athletes. Does not care about their education, outside life or well being (mentally and physically). Would never recommend oit as a place to run as the coaching staff and administration will not protect their athletes from harmful people
"
"Has an intense coaching style. Won’t make any effort to help athletes unless they come to him. When athletes make an effort to communicate he will belittle them. Individual and team meetings are always awkward and unnecessarily long. Is great about helping an athlete set long term goals in his program(assuming the athlete doesn’t get injured). "
"Coach Jack knows the sport very well but doesn't know how to care about or treat athletes like a whole person. He has terrible recidivism and the athletes who don't quit are constantly injured. His technique is very inconsistent and you never know what to expect when coming to practice. He is a all bout negative, never positive reinforcement."
