"Makes you a better person and athlete. Definitely a tough coach but I would say that what you want in a coach because how else are you going to get stronger. He’s going to be honest and real with you. He doesn’t put up with BS. Also cares about you and your future and when you slip up he’ll be almost like a parent and he will you get on the right track in life. Definitely knows what he’s doing when it comes to jumping and sprinting. Man hella organized with his workouts and schedules and does actual research into what he’s coaching. He’s not only coaching from experience but from lots of actual research. I improve a lot at my time at Pima and would go to Pima again. Trust the process and trust this man. He’s a lil funny too so many times he had us cracking up at practice. "
"Great coach who takes in and builds all kinds of athletes. Is passionate about not only the sport but setting athletes up for their futures in a career or moving on to the next level. His biggest goal for athletes is to help them get to the next level with not only athletics ability and experience but good grades. He works to help his athletes go to four year institutions and have no debt or go at a minimal cost due to good grades and good athletic performance."
"Chad strives to be the best coach ever, constantly learning and truly believes in every athlete he coaches. Works very hard himself and expects the same out of each athlete, often times wanting their success more. He's very knowledgeable and applies it to his program. Chad listens to each athlete and cares about them tremendously. "
"Coach Chad was the best coach I ever had! I wish I could have competed under him all 4 year but such an amazing coach that I still communicate with even after college! Watch an amazing inspirational person to look up to! "
"Amazing Coach!! HE WILL PUSH YOU MENTAL,PHYSICALLY, EMOTIONALLY. he took me from a ok athlete in High school to a D1 athlete!! He is strict, does not tolerate BS excuses but and athletes HATE BEING CALLED OUT ON THEIR ISSUES.
I have watched this man put his own money up to make sure athletes have uniforms, shoes ect.
10/10 would recommend :)"
"I was a student-athlete in the Az-NJCAA community almost 20 years ago. i chose a school that didnt have an events coach for me. loved my school but competing against the other schools in our conference i noticed a distinct difference from Pima by coach Harrison.
now years later after coaching and officiating I must say Coach Chad “green eyes” Harrison is on the peak of his industry.
His responsibilities to the student, athlete and parents alike stand alone in his field. How he can balance his medical profession while keeping his small junior college afloat js very impressive.
I must say his students are always forward and respectful which sheds light on who their head coach is as a member of our community."
"Coach Chad will work you until you throw up
And then some. He is not afraid of kicking athletes who break rules off the team no matter how good they are. He will push you to your absolute limits. He’s a fantastic coach but also is a major jerk sometimes but about 90% of the time it’s justified. He also places a lot of weight on first impressions. He will certainly get you to the next level, as long as you can handle the workload. "
"There is not one negative thing I could save about Coach. She will change your life in more ways than you can imagine. I am the best goalkeeper I have ever been because of her."
"Any young basketball player interested in becoming a well rounded player should find an opportunity to be coached by Marsharne Flannigan. He respects the game and knows how much work it takes to follow your dream. Highly recommend this coach."
"He will come off extremely intense at first but once you get to know him you will understand he truly wants what is best for his athletes! Being as busy as his is the little things might be overlooked but just have faith in him and you will progress. He is a hard a** so don’t expect it to be easy. He will challenge you and push you to your limits with that being said, it’s important for you as an athlete to pull your weight as well. Make sure you go to the trainer when needed along with taking the time to recover when you body is exhausted(communication is key!). Things in life are not given they are earned through hard work, commitment and full effort! Chad is the same if you want to improve or succeed he is the coach but you need to be as committed to the improvement as he is! He is normally direct so don’t take things to personal. I’m an extremely emotional person and I learned the hard way by overthinking that things were different than they actually were. But once I finally spoke with Chad and straightened it all out and put all the cards in the table, things started to fall into place. I stopped overthinking things and started to improve as well as trust in the process. Although I was naturally talented, I was extremely out of shape and not ready to complete at ALL! Chad got me there in a short time and I ended up winning multiple national championships and getting a full ride to a division one. Commitment, communication and consistency is key. If you are struggling with something, don’t be afraid to go talk to him! He will talk to you straight, and even though he might not have all the answers, he will try to work with you to figure them out if needed. "
"Over the past two years, I had the privilege of being a high jumper under Coach Chad's guidance, and I can genuinely say he is the most exceptional coach I've ever had. Coach Chad's impact on my journey was particularly profound during my time at Pima. When I first arrived at Pima, my GPA stood at a mere 1.9, and my excess weight prevented me from pursuing high jumping. However, through Coach Chad's unwavering support and guidance, I managed to transform my situation. Today, I am leaving Pima as a two-time All American and a regional champion, having achieved a remarkable 3.25 GPA. As I prepare to embark on the next chapter of my academic and athletic journey at the University of Oregon, I owe a significant portion of my success to Coach Chad. His transformative influence has truly altered my life in an overwhelmingly positive way. "
"Coach Harrison was made head coach at pima during the dark times. After Harrison took the control, there was an immediate turn around. The team started to feel like a family rather than people you just see everyday."
"Incredibly racist, and if your not a jumper you won’t receive any respect from him. Loves to talk but never follows through. One of my teammates graduated (with a 4.0) after one year and signed to a division 1 school, I didn’t see any congratulations, In fact Chad would more than often call him lazy. On a separate instance he called another one of his runners a “bad teammate” for accepting a better scholarship offer and not signing to the same division 1 school as another teammate. Great salesmen but terrible coach, manages to get a lot of good talent so he does next to no training. Absolutely zero knowledge of any events outside of jumping despite being a head coach. Would often send out last minute instructions that were near impossible for some teammates to complete in the eligible time frame and then punish said teammates later. Also incredibly narcissistic, just not a good person and not someone who you should ever have to interact with. "
