"Its hard to score him when you don't believe he rates even a 1. Not a players coach you go to the school (which he school is good by the way) but you go there to enjoy and play the game you love and find yourself treated unfairly and turning on the game. for the student athlete you've run up a tremendous amount of debt. you know going in the cost of an education there but at least enjoy the game you can't get that promise under the current coach. They will always be a sub 500 team with him and you the school will lack that student athlete that will give back to the university because very rarely will a full class of incoming players stay. I am shocked the administration hasn't seen this by now. "
"hard to trust coach comes across as though he is supportive but he loses his luster after a few weeks on campus. he seems to tag you early on not making the effort to coach and support. my choice to go to queens was the family message, location and opportunity the campus provided. family went out the window pretty soon..my decision cost my family alot of money being a private school.so disappointed!"
"guys play in fear of retribution. it's why they are undisciplined. lots of carfs during a game. after a loss blames guys that didn't play because they weren't. cheering. why should they he gives them no hope buries them on benc h. can't develop players and players lack trust. talks a big game but doesn't deliver."
"if you're reading this as a potential future player look for any other opportunities you may have rather than play under oliver. lacks loyalty to his players. demeanor them in front of teammates. fails to make adjustments during the game. if you are parent don't put your child through the agony of playing with him. he tends to lead athletes on and heavily plays favorites to certain players. very disappointing."
"as a parent you trust the coach that sales family is true to their word, and that they buy into your child and support them. this isn't the case at queens. he doesn't work to support the student athletes he gives up on them quickly, especially freshman. he forms an option early on and gives up on them. as a parent I couldn't have been more disappointed. now days you can't share your feelings with administration or the coach they label you as that parent that is too involved and complains. I wanted my kid to be coached, I'm ok with tough coaching but don't quit on them, tell them you no longer want them around when they showed up for every practice and worked hard on the field when they were allowed to get on the pitch. a great school ,but needs a.better ambassador for soccer"
"self serving not about student athletes. doesn't develop players quits on them, lacks loyalty and honesty. University leaders need to pay attention to players that have left or he has ask to leave over past couple years. he never bought in to his players and commitment to them. Ruined my soccer career... Showed up everyday only to used as a pawn to attempt to motivate his favorites."
"remember people don't forget how you make them feel. it's really hard for me because I'm not a negative person but he stole my love for the game. promised alot never delivered. talked family but never showed that
gives up on his players he doesnt seem to believe in a 4 year player right now. alot of turnover. I wish school administration and trustees really saw the real person he is."
"promises but never follows through. not loyal to the players. administration fails to address the lack of culture. loses games in last few minutes of games plays same players all the time. "
"Worst coach I have ever had. Made me not only hate lacrosse but hate my life when he was my coach. He has no clue how to coach women's lacrosse. He chooses favorites and only plays his favorites, even if they aren’t the best players. While the rest of his talented team sits the bench to rot and not improve upon their skills. In practice the majority of the reps were given to the players who actually played in the games. The most disorganized coach I have ever seen, showed up late to practice and messed up several of our game times, meals, meetings, etc. Also missed many scheduled phone calls with recruits due to this organization. I wonder sometimes how Coach Jason Levesque even got this Division 1 coaching job. Considering that he has never coached women's lacrosse before. He doesn’t know how to treat women and drove out 4 assistant coaches (women) in his 3 years at Saint Bonaventure. He once made me cry so hard in a meeting that I had a panic attack and showed no remorse. He also made our team manager, who did everything for us, quit. Do not, I repeat do not, hire Jason Levesque "
"Worst lacrosse coach I have ever had. Made me lose the love for the game. Didn’t know my name and I played for him for 3 years. Don’t hire and don’t play for him… especially if he’s coaching Women’s lacrosse. "
"Coach Vahrenkamp is a great manager and coach. He will get you better and put the team in the best position to win. I wouldn’t want to be coached by someone different. "
"Worst coach I ever had. Has no clue of the game. Lies to players. Only plays his starters all season and leaves all others in bench with no chance to earn time. Basically, the internationals play. Avoids you when you try to talk to him. Not straightforward. Senior year and feel he hasn't taught me a single thing. Wish I would accepted other offer."
"This woman is actually crazy. Would not recommend every considering playing for her no matter if she gives you a full scholarship or not. She is mentally and emotionally abusive. Your child's college experience will be ruined. She broke up friendships and threatened to take their playing time away if they didn't obey. She is a sociopath. "
"I have never played for a worse coach. She is manipulative and will ruin your child's view of the sport. She is a bully that gets away with it because the Athletic Directors wife was her college coach. She bullies people to the point of depression. She brainwashes her team and her assistant to target the people she is bullying. Convincing liar."
"Extremely discouraging. Forgetful or a failure to meet deadlines (entering athletes into meets)
Rude.
Embarrasses people in front of others.
Difficult to work with.
Greedy with team money and doesn't make decisions based on the best interest of anyone besides himself.
Bends the rules when he feels like it.

"Jeff Dugdale started Queens University swimming six years ago and has made enormous strides in making division 2 swimming faster and faster. After two National Championships in two consecutive years he has come back each year more excited about the future of his program. Jeff cares so much about his swimmers and his program while balancing a family and taking on an administrative role within the Queens athletic department. He's an amazing passionate coach and great person to be involved with."
"I transferred to another school due to the toxicity that was brought with the program. They very much have the mean girl mentality with sharing the same interest as them. Nobody takes responsibility and blames everything on others. If she says she cares about education she really doesn’t along with the rest of the team. If you want a positive atmosphere DO NOT COME HERE, they just complain about everything and everyone. If you are injured or get injured under her she will give up on you and will never ask how you are doing or even care if you are making progress because she already plans for you to sit the bench or to leave. After going there, I had to receive counseling for PTSD because of how mentally and verbally abusive the whole program is. Mental health is “not real” in this program so SAVE YOURSELF! "
"Jason is an amazing coach who has shown an amazing amount of iq regarding lacrosse! He is approachable and one of the most caring human beings I know"
