"It is unfortunate that I am rating Zazzaro so low, but he is just not a fair guy. He and the other coaches play favorites, over recruit, and do not treat everyone equally. If you come from the right family or go to the right school you will have an advantage. If you aren’t so blessed, you better be really, really good if you want to play. If you aren’t “chosen” you will always have to do more and you will fear for every mistake because you will not get the second and third chances that some players get. You will hear how great you are doing and how good you look, then you will sit on the bench with no idea what happened and no idea how to fix it. There are some very good players sitting on the bench at Rhodes because they didn’t go to the right school or they are buddies with the coaches. There are so many guys thinking about quitting after this season that it is down right scary."
"Coach Z is a great recruiter. He will make you feel like he really wants you at Rhodes. He really makes you feel like you are part of the future. Once you get there, you will soon realize he already has his chosen guys and you were never more than a practice squad guy. If you are lucky enough to be one of his chosen, your mistakes won’t matter, and you will play no matter what. If you aren’t, you are going to play tight and scared because any mistake could end your season. He will tell you what you want to hear in your individual meetings and tell you you are going to be playing a lot but when the season comes around his boys are the ones on the field. If you ask for a specific plan to work your way into the lineup, you will not get it. He is very intentional about avoiding specific paths to playing time because he doesn’t want you to be able to work through a specific process to play. He loves his private school kids. He knows where his recruiting bread is buttered and if you come from certain schools, you will start out ahead. It doesn’t guarantee you will play, but you will get a whole lot more benefit if the doubt. The hardest part is having a coach repeated lie to you in meeting after meeting. Going through the recruiting process I really grew to respect Coach Z, but know I just wish I had gone somewhere else with Coaches who were honest and had an intent to grow my game. I know a lot of people will read this and think that every coach is going to play the best players, but for Coach Z he recruits so much better than most of the schools we play that he can play his favorites and still be much more talented than a lot of the other teams they play. Just know, if you intend to play for Rhodes, you better be really sure that you played at the right place, have the right family, or are so good that he has no choice to play you. Really disappointed in the man I thought Coach Z was."
"Coach Wags is the most passionate and dedicated coach I have ever played for. I received an excellent education from Rhodes College but playing for coach Wags was the main reason for attending Rhodes. He develops his players both on and off the field and creates talented, dedicated, and determined players. I am shocked that the first review on this page is even written and has yet to be reported. Not one player who was committed to playing for coach Wags or even committed to the game of softball would speak of him in such a way. All I can say is coach Wags is the epitome of a players first coach and while his passion for the game and softball IQ drive the success seen in the win column, his mentorship and dedication to player development are what lead to player’s career and personal successes. "
"Coach Wagner is very arrogant and would show-up hungover at practice. I was a starter for 3 years, so not on here cuz I didn't play. Not a nice human!"
"Coach Katie made my daughters first year NCAA experience a delightful. My daughter depended on her coach and fellow team mates to transition from HS/ECNL play manageable. Not to mention winning the conference. I would recommend Coach Chambers to anyone that wants to play ball. Thank you coach Katie!"
"He's really friendly and nice, but makes workouts very unrelated to my event, since he is less familiar with it. This makes it hard to do my best, when I am doing easy workouts for the wrong muscle groups"
"Really good at making you “believe”she cares about you for her own ulterior motives. Convinced me to believe in her to the point of choosing a D 3 school for field hockey over multiple D1 Soccer Scholarship options. Promising playing time and a lot of other things. (Best person ever until you commit.) She over recruited and over promised any and everything that would pull in players. Dishonest and very egotistical. Cold and not understanding of anyone that does not fit her mold. Just be cautious about her intentions.

"Younger coach that’s “learning” however it’s starting to seem some people are not fit to be coaches. Nice woman who cares about the team and well being but falls short of being motivational or intensive enough to help players reach their full potential. Practices are a waste of time and little feedback is given about performance on or off the court. I will say a positive is that she does not really have favorites, but that is mainly because she doesn’t seem to care to connect with most of the players or take the time to know about their personal lives other than career goals and summer plans. Can recruit relatively well and the team has a great culture and work ethic but you’ll find that all of that is wasted when the coach can not be found during a match to help out a player with strategy. If you want to be on a team where the goal is to have fun and then get smoked by sewanee every year then this is the place for you! "
