"Becky is truly an amazing coach, and I am lucky to have been a part of the SHU Women’s Bowling Program. Becky cares about her players well being both on and off the lanes, and has provided me with guidance and advice well into my adult years. She gives players encouragement when needed and instruction on how to improve their skill set, all while practicing patience and demonstrating respect for all. Becky helped create very fond memories, lifelong friendships, and a team culture/cohesiveness that I will forever cherish. "
"Has no idea what he is doing, constantly picks the worst team selections and his practices make no sense, for example weeks of doubles practice with partners that you don’t even play with in season. His practice sessions also caused our no.2 singles player to break down in tears, the environment was very toxic. Also has his favorites and treats those favorites much better than the rest of the team. Playing for this coach ruined my passion for the sport. When the job became available there was no fair interview process, Mike just decided as a senior member of the sports administration at SHU, that he would like to be the coach and therefore got the job. During my time on this program, the team liked to smoke and participate in recreational drugs 4/5x a week. Even after I left a kid he brought in failed a drugs test. Anyway I didn’t want to associate with this lifestyle and passed up team activities to be labelled as “not a team player” and in turn was removed from lineups despite easily beating majority of the roster consistently in practice. If you read this far please note that the school sacred heart is amazing, the campus is beautiful and you will only find amazing people, unfortunately as far as tennis is concerned, avoid!"
"He was the best coach I've ever been around. Treated the best player and the worst player on team with the same respect. Could correct and team players without attacking and demeaning them. A pleasure to be around."
"Coach Sydney tries his hardest to be a good coach, but consistently falls short. The team environment is awful, and he lets his captains run the show which ultimately causes issues. There is no variety in the types of drills at practice, and feedback is non-existent if you are not a favorite. While he tries to make the environment better by having team bonding, he does not directly address issues. Overall he just lacks communication, which causes his coaching style to fall short of being good."
"Does not help his players succeed. Very unorganized and forgetful during practice. Does not care about players health. Former players have not gotten better after being coached by him. They either quit playing, go to Juco, or down to d2. "
"I would give the trip a 4.5 overall. I wish I was able to meet the team a little more but there has not been many moments where I actually got to talk to them in a real conversation. The school was really nice and the campus was beautifully built."
"He was a terrible abusive coach to my daughter. She had eating disorders after playing for him. He's controlling and mean and abusive to his players. I would never recommend anyone play for him or anyone like him. "
"Terrible man and abusive to his male and female players. Controlling, angry, and he actually just hit his player at Sacred Heart on the bench! If he does this on live TV there is always more that happens behind closed doors. He was physically and mentally abusive to me as a player. "
"Completely disorganized and dishonest, overmatched by this job despite having an extensive resume. Makes his athletes dread practices and games, plays favorites with certain players than outright refuses to consider other players despite how good they may be performing when given the opportunity. Not great at communicating with or listening to his players, frequently provides misleading information both about the game and logistically. Cultivated a team-culture of individualism and selfishness, is often rude or abrasive to assistant coaches, general managers or anyone he would consider his junior. I personally wouldn’t recommend at all."
"Older coach, very outdated mindset for the sport. Little to no care for players, not motivational at all, confusing, extremely disorganized and very very difficult to work with "
"She is very rude and demeaning towards her players and staff. She did absolutely nothing to help with my life after college- she only helps those who she favors. She constantly gives up on her team unless they are winning which is awful. She made every member of the team want to quit. She also overworked us until every player was injured. "
"She was not a good coach. She was very rude and fake to her players, other than those that she favored. She made life a living hell for everyone on the team and without the close team bond we had, players would have easily quit or walked off. She did absolutely nothing when it came to helping her players post college either, except a select few."
"Very time consuming sport, especially in college which I was not prepared for, so make sure that you are aware of that before you commit. Tiffany is nice and cares about the team. Intense"
"Does a great job managing the cross country and track and field teams which isn't an easy task. Hires good people to work under him for different events."
"PAMMY is my heart, soul and life. She is hands down the best coach I’ve ever had, and I hope to stay in touch with her for years to come. She knows what she’s talking about."
"Very knowledgeable in our Sport and has been around running for over 30 years. He is available at almost all times and his coaching skills is what made me commit to Sacred Heart University."
"Pam is always there for her players. She loves us like family and will do anything she can to help us become better players and people. She is full of passion and heart, and she loves this game more than anything in the world. If you are willing to work hard she will make you the best player you can be. "
"Pam has been the best coach I have ever come across. She's helpful and cares so much about each and every one of her players. She treats us like her own and does absolutely everything for her team. I have improved so much since I have started working with her and I can't wait to keep going. I know that with her as my coach possibilities are endless"
"Love Pam more than anything and she loves all of her players like we are her own! The amount I've improved since I've gotten here 3 years go is unbelievable and I can honestly say I wouldn't be the player I am today without her. "
"Bob Bertucci lives, eats, breathes volleyball and knows the sport extremely well. His ability to communicate and relate to players, however, is nil. He is very stuck in his ways and unwilling to bend."
"Bob is an old school coach. When he truly believes a team can win he will do everything he can to get the team to that place. Focuses on the basics and he wants players that are all in... players that could have gone to a bigger D1 school but also want a good, rigorous academic schedule. Wants to create connection between coaching staff and players, but not all players can connect."
"Bob knows his stuff when it comes to volleyball! Personality-wise, he comes off a bit harsh and stubborn, but that is something that the players learn to deal with. He is used to coaching at high-intensity programs that place more emphasis on athletics than academics. He does care about his players but sometimes does not understand how to convey that appropriately."
"Coach Nofri of Sacred Heart University is a college football coach you dream of playing for. We like to consider him as a "players" coach. Meaning he is very easy to talk to, relate to, and looks out for the best interest of his players on and off the field. All of my teammates love playing for Coach Nofri and I'm very excited to have the opportunity to have played for him."
"Coach Trapini, along the rest of Sacred Heart's coaching staff is amazing. Sacred heart's program is continuing to build student-athletes, and be able to provide them with the necessary resources to excel beyond the classroom. "
