"Dylan Liddell taking over for SVSU wbb is insultingly hilarious after working for BURT PADDOCK who told his players to keep their mouth shut and mind their own business when the women’s basketball coach was sleeping with his own player!!!! Haha SO SO SO SICKENING AND SHAMFUL. My son was told to “MIND HIS OWN BUSINESS” and yet no investigations for DU ALL COVER UPS FOR BOTH BASKETBALL PROGRAMS. "
"My experience with Coach Cowan as a head track coach was overwhelmingly negative. In my opinion, any success the program had was due to athlete talent rather than effective coaching. Communication was consistently poor. He routinely avoided athletes and was extremely difficult to reach. During the summer he was essentially absent, and even responding to a simple text or email seemed beyond him, despite that being the bare minimum expectation for a head coach.
His decision making was often questionable and lacked athlete focus. Many decisions appeared to be driven by pressure from the athletic department rather than what was best for the team. These choices frequently disrupted training and negatively impacted athlete development.
He also did a poor job managing and understanding the team as a whole. He made little effort to get to know the full roster and was unfamiliar with many of the distance athletes, even though that group regularly accounted for a large share of the team’s points at conference meets. Overall, the program felt disorganized and lacking clear leadership.
These criticisms apply specifically to him as head coach and are not a reflection of the assistant coaches."
"I had a teammate that transferred from sag. She wouldn’t hit off the tee and bragged how you all would show up 10 minutes before a game. Telling us it’s not important to warm up. I thought she was really cool but now I see how she manipulated us. I enjoyed getting free booze though not gonna lie. Go svsu! You coach em up good. "
"Girl on my team constantly bragged about how you let your team drink alcohol on the bus after winning the conference tournament. Do you need anymore athletes at SVSU bc I’m available. White claw in hand. "
"Has inappropriate relationships with players and alumni have told me that Ryan allowed his team to drink on the bus after winning their conference tournament. This information has completely changed how I view this coach and program. I once held his program in high regard but a pattern of letting student athletes do whatever they want hasn’t gone unnoticed. "
"Wow... These are really harsh ratings for a very nice guy and a solid coach. Seems like it might sour grapes from a few people who had their relay spots taken by better swimmers. He knows his stuff and produces results. Cares about the athletes. Plain and simple."
"You can't trust him or what he says. He has made teammates feel uncomfortable when meeting with him 1 on 1, and it's even worse for my female teammates. "
"Does not care about mid-tier athletes. Will lie to your face. Only interested in recruiting new, not improving what is already there. Extremely defensive when athletes bring up concerns."
"Coach appears to know the events, but time has shown he doesn’t. Gets bailed out by his talent. The same talented athletes would be better elsewhere."
"Does care about players has no loyalty to his players. Won't look you in your eyes when you talk to you.he only cares about his Favorites does it matter if skill set will only play his favorite"
