"The coaches style is very old school, something needs to either change with her coaching style or her recruiting because the team is just not where it should be. This coach has massive player bias, and only gives chances to her favorite personalities and not their abilities. Fosters a team environment where her players put down other players when their hits are better than there’s and tells them they need to cut back. When I told them I was going to transfer they told me that they would tell every coach, of all the schools I was looking at not to let me on their team. "
"Chris Donovan has to go down as the worst coach in NCAA women’s hockey as shown by is losing record of about .15 winning percentage. Poor communicator, low effort, created terrible team culture. Has lied to every team he has coached by telling the players if they ever said he should not coach, he would voluntarily leave. The player writeups have been horrific about their experiences and his inability to coach a team. He was finally forced to leave after 24 years. Ironically the former AD Chris Kenny was also forced to leave for covering up player reviews on behalf of Donovan. "
"Very bad at communicating effectively, does not take constructive criticism well, allows inappropriate relationships between assistant coach and athletes, not very knowledgeable about the sport. Does emphasize academic success. Preaches mental health but does not act on her words. Holds onto intense biases when handling conflict (if willing to handle the conflict at all)."
"Coach Wendy met with my daughter and me after we attended a tour of the college. She made time to meet with us and connected well with my daughter. She talked about her coaching career, her vision for the team, and was honest about the strength of the team and the expectations for players to receive playing time. She seems like a great coach to play for. "
"St. Michael's athletes gave a full tour that included attending classes, meeting with coaches and spending time with the team. The team seemed super tight and positive towards each other."
"Wants you to put in the work but understands that our academics come first. Our league is filed with talented older international players but believes we can win. Really wants us to be fit."
"I only visited for a day, but the athletes were super nice and welcoming. I had a meeting with the coach and she seemed like she really wanted to get to know me and what I was looking for in a school. It's a super small campus but everyone I met was very nice."
"Coach Donovan is such a positive leader. He truly cares about his players and wants the best for his team. He motivates his players to be the best they can be on and especially off the ice. "
"Quinn has always wanted the best for me and my teammates. She expresses how much she cares and does everything she can for myself and the team to get better and reach our goals "
"Coach Quinn is not present in practice. Coach has poor communication skill and lacks discipline. The program needs a coach who is organized, direct, and driven. "
"Quinn is an organized and responsive coach who is always willing to give over 100% to her team. She works to ensure her players are fulfilling their full potential on the field, in the classroom, and in all faucets of their college student athlete experiences. Quinn is a coach that will always be in your corner. "
"Gus is incredibly passionate about the sport and cares a lot about every one of his athletes. He is always available to his athletes and works hard to give them the best training opportunities on and off the hill."
"Gus is the most helpful and motivated coach I have seen in any college circuit. His hard work and dedication to the sport is extremely inspiring and motivational. He is always willing to help no matter the circumstances. I couldn’t think of a single complain about Gus as a coach, mentor, and a friend. "
"Picks favorites, and alienates those who don't conform to his standards. This would be acceptable if he had anywhere near a decent record over the last 10 years. He is overconfident due to success early in his career "
