"One of the worst coaches I’ve ever played for. So uninspiring, never takes accountability for the stupid decisions he makes, and plays favorites all the time. Blames almost every loss on energy and compete level. I have no clue what goes on in his mind because the way he runs a college baseball program is very poor. If La Roche wants to get back to a winning baseball program, then letting him go would be a great first step because if not, it will be more of the same."
"Poor excuse for a “coach.” He is the textbook example of how NOT to run a baseball team. He is, without question, the worst coach I’ve ever seen at the college level. It’s honestly mind-blowing that someone this clueless is allowed anywhere near a college baseball program. He has obvious favorites and he doesn’t even try to hide it. No matter how poorly they perform, they stay on the field while more skilled, hardworking players rot on the bench. It’s politics over performance, and it’s disgusting. What’s worse is his lack of basic baseball knowledge. His understanding of the game is laughable! He has no strategy, no awareness and absolutely no ability to make decisions under pressure. He can’t manage a lineup, doesn’t teach fundamentals, and has no clue how to motivate or lead a team. Watching him “coach” is like watching someone guess their way through a game they’ve never played. Unsurprisingly, under his coaching, the team constantly loses. Instead of taking responsibility, he blames the players and the dugout energy. It’s demoralizing for the kids and painful for the parents to watch. It makes everyone hate the game. This isn’t just bad coaching, it’s leadership failure. Bottom line, this “coach” is doing more harm than good. The players deserve better, and so does the game. If LaRoche cares even a little bit about its baseball program, it’ll start by replacing the guy who clearly doesn’t know the game he’s pretending to coach when his contract is up this year. Absolute embarrassment."
"
Daddy ball style coach, if you kiss a*s well enough he will play you. Has his obvious favorites and plays them, skill level is not relevant in his mind. I’ve seen him coach first hand for several years and he has single handily taken a winning program and tanked it. Cannot keep an assistant coach around, that should tell you everything you need to know about what he’s like as a manager. Has no knowledge of the game of baseball. He doesn’t “coach” his players at all, he just kind of manages who comes in and out of games. No culture, poor management, stubborn decision making, and coaches with emotion which has lost LaRoche many games. I suggest to whomever is reading this that you stay away from wherever this man is coaching. LaRoche needs to let him go once his contract is up this year because he has no business being a college baseball coach, he should be a strength and conditioning coach at best. He is a good guy as a person but the worst coach I have ever played under by far. He should by no means be allowed to manage a collegiate baseball team. "
"Coach Janosko is a coach who lies to his players and finds only the bad in the players he doesn't like. When playing for Coach Janosko I witnessed not only myself but other players get cut from a dress list for no apparent reason. He preaches one philosophy then gets mad halfway through the season when it isn't working. When Playing for M**k you will feel like part of the crowd, there is no feedback on good or bad plays, and the fear of getting pulled from the dress list is constant as M**k time and time again shows no trust in the players he recruits. He would rather turn to D2 and NAIA transfers who lack discipline and work ethic due to Janosko handing them the starting jobs. M**k Janosko has killed not only mine but many other players love for the game due to his poor coaching and even worse personality. "
"I've played for many bad coaches but none of them were near as bad as Janosko. I was lied too the first day I ever stepped foot on campus. We were told that there would be a brand new turf field and he even showed recruits pictures of what it would look like. But the field is never going to come.
Players get yelled at when they ask him questions. What kind of coach does that?? It's part of his job, even though he's clearly only in it for the money as he continues to recruit 25-30 new kids every year and then gets rid of most of them after their first year, just to bring 25-30 many more on the following year. It's a never ending cycle. Practices are extremely unorganized with only two coaches looking over 70 kids. He is also a confidence killer. If you make one tiny mistake, even in a practice, you will get screamed at. During games, it's as if there's no coach there. He just sits at the end of the dugout and rarely says anything to anyone, only yelling at players if something goes wrong. He never seems to give positive feedback to players, its always negative and then he complains when everyone plays uptight. He also plays favorites, which is clearly representative of the terrible record from this past season. With the amount of kids on the team, the record should have been a lot better than it was. Coach Janosko has ruined my love for the game and I deeply regret my decision to play for him. If you are getting recruited to play at Saint Vincent, definitely look elsewhere."
"Good guy off the field, would probably have a beer with him, but not the best option when making a decision for your future. Has a skewed idea of what baseball is and how it is played, appears to have absolutely no idea about how to manage a baseball team or win games. You could give him the 2017 dodgers and he would find a way to lose. There is absolutely no chance of developing into a better player under him, and you are more likely to become worse at the game simply by being in his presence. I am not sure if a single competent thought has been developed behind his eyes. If you are a parent or an athlete reading this, understand there are much better options than under this program or coach if you are looking to become better at the sport and progress to a higher level. Absolutely do not waste the time, money, or effort attempting to play under him or his program."
"As a former player for him, he really cares about your academics and wants you to succeed later in life. Besides that he is not a coach, he is an academic advisor. Has a 15 page playbook for him to only use steal sign and bunt sign. If you don’t study the play book he will make you run for it, which is fair but he does not even know the plays himself. He consistently plays his favorites even if there is a player who is better playing under them. He blames dugout energy for losses 90% of the time. He also does not let his assistant coaches do their jobs even though the assistant coaches know 10 times more than he does. He will also scream at players nonstop, and when you win a game he only talks about the negatives from the game, he will never actually congratulate you. Do not waste your time playing for him because you will never win. In all, he’s a great guy that cares about you but has zero clue on how to coach baseball team."
"Horrible Coach, Players hate him and have no respect for him. Plays favorites. Game coaching is poor. Only wins a little based on talent. Personality of a fly.Destroys players confidence."
"I’ve never had a worse coach in my life. My skills actually got weaker when playing for her. Real conversations don’t exist, not even about the sport. Lacks motivational or teaching skills. Cries when she has to challenge play calls. Cannot coach. She recruits well and that’s how her team wins, not because of her coaching skills. Barely even speaks. If you get on her bad side forget ever playing and don’t expect a reason why or chance to change things around. Doesn’t take much for her to not like you, she is somewhat petty. I would not recommend at all. Worst four years of softball I ever had."
"A coach who knows how to push players to their limits and challenge them mentally on the field as well as physically. Always available to talk about class, life, or football. Honest about your place on team and what to do to be able to play more. "
"Don’t make the mistake of committing to SVC for baseball. Janosko is a con artist who is extremely dishonest during recruiting and doesn’t follow through on his word. Save yourself the time/money/eligibility and evaluate other options. "
