He is great at building a positive team atmosphere. I believe that he is very fair when he makes decisions about relays, lineup, etc. He cares about you as a person AND as an athlete. Brent makes Xavier feel like a family. He can give you a killer set without being a jerk about it. He never looses his cool, and motivates through positivity, not yelling. Brent has made me fall back in love with the sport of swimming, which almost never happens at the NCAA level. I think that if every coach was like Brent MacDonald, the sport of swimming would be a better place."
