"Horrible coach and person. He's a salesman. If you're his favorite you can do anything you want. Others will be disregarded and used for leverage. Under his watch at Seton Hill numerous students were in romantic relationships with coaches on his staff. He will preach that you're a student-athlete, not the opposite, but he will not care one bit about your performance as a student. He's definitely racist too. "
"Courtney grove is an amazing coach who took on a tough role back in 2014 and has completely turned the women’s lacrosse team around. Nothing but respect for her."
"Coach grove is an excellent sales woman. She’s able to craft a lovely picture of life at Seton Hill while being part of a “top notch” team. However, once you really get to campus, you’ll find that she pins players against each other, conditions players until they pee or barf on themselves, and belittles any player that suffers from confidence issues. She ruined the sport for me in more ways than one and I hope that whoever reads this takes it into deep consideration before committing. Truly assess what the school offers, and compare with your goals for post graduation. If you like the sport and are a great athlete, I promise you’ll find better opportunities outside of SHU. Please, save yourself the trauma & find a program that will make you feel safe, respected and included."
"Coach Ashley Ivill has been a great asset to the men's and women's sprint, hurdle, and jumps crew at SHU. The insight and attention to detail were right on time for a young, inexperienced team due to COVID-19. She went above and beyond to create a team culture by buying neon matching hats for the coaches and athletes to wear to bring a sense of camaraderie and helping us get to one of our best results scoring-wise at the indoor conference meet. "
"He made me hate being a college athlete which is something I dreamed of my entire life. Every week we practiced over the allowable number of hours with no regard to schoolwork or anything else we had to do. Practices were like military drills. You were punished and belittled if you smiled at any time In his presence. I can honestly say that of the 15 people on the roster, not one was happy. The happiest day of the year was when the season was over. "
"I was a player during his tenure at Seton Hill. Very grateful for the opportunity to play college ball and thankful to coach Saunders for bringing me in. To be blunt, we ran over 115 set plays in packages of 5. We weren’t allowed to break off plays or often times, even call them out for fear of being “scouted”. We were at the bottom of the conference so idk why that even mattered. We were always the easy win on the calendar because we weren’t playing basketball, we were robots and he was the programmer. You had to be perfectly matching for every team function, practice or games, with white socks, team shoes, shirts tucked in, no jewelry, wristbands etc. I really lost my love for the game playing under him. The only thing that kept me going were the guys on the roster, which I will forever be grateful for him helping me cross paths With the guys that I will be friends with forever. We went way over NCAA regulations for hours practicing and went one stretch of 24 straight days with no off day, and only had it because a member of the athletic department found out and made it happen. And it wasn’t like we were competing for a championship or even a playoff spot, we were dead last in our conference. As a head coach, this was not a good fit and would not recommend. As an assistant however he seemed to be much better with Princeton navy and army. Lastly, Which is kind of upsetting is that he would always preach to us about a “40 year relationship” and how “we had him and the staff for life”. After The day he was fired he never responded to any of us or even said a final goodbye. Disappointing when you put your body, mind and time on the line for someone and they don’t even have the courtesy to share parting words or reach out. Just my input, I hope he is able to bounce back and learn from his time at Shu. "
"Marc truly cares about the development of each individual, not only as an athlete, but as a person. He is the true definition of a leader and was somebody that I strongly admired during my time at Seton Hill. If you are serious about reaching your full potential as a ball player, I highly recommend attending Seton Hill University. "
"Whitney is a miserable excuse for a coach. She was abusive and unstable. Now that she was fired from Seton Hill, I advise that nobody hire her. She'll likely get her employer into financially devastating law suits like she did at Seton Hill. Do yourself a favor and NEVER hire, play or work with this woman. You will regret it."
"Kendrick Saunders took away my love for the game. I️ thought getting a new coach would be a great opportunity and instead it was a huge mistake. He made accusations and belittled me for having a certain hair style. He accused me of faking an injury when I️ was carried out of the school on a stretcher. After quitting the program he threatened his team to move away from my dorm or get punished. Complete power trip, wasn’t good man at all. Would make a great politician though. "
