"Nick Dotson is a blue chip coach in every respect. In the last 7 years he has built a program that is dominated the Sun Conference in Florida in both the men's and women's track and field. He's done this by bringing together young men and women who are academically sound, can be developed as athletes, are coachable and respectful all around. He knows the sport inside and out and continually develops the person as well as the talent. He's developed a knowledgeable staff in order to extend his reach as well. I would have no reservations at all recommending an athlete to be part of one of his programs. "
"Dedicated to the sport. Has built a distance program in a state that is not climate-wise friendly. Has developed a community of runners that are leaders, academically at the top and are encouraging one another. He understands team and is very knowledgeable. He goes beyond coaching in developing relationships that will be a long-lasting with his athletes. He uses the sport to develop men and women so that they are prepared for their future endeavors."
"Coach Dinkel is an amazing coach. He not only knows how to lead his team to win at a very high level but also teaches the importance of being good humans on and off the baseball field. He is a man who loves the Lord and you can see that in the way that he treats his family and his team. When his athletes come in to begin a new academic year it doesn't take long for them to become a part of the Fire Family. He welcomes you in and you quickly develop a high level of respect for him because he gives you the respect you deserve! It's an honor to be able to play for such an amazing coach. "
"Coach Dodson cares about his athletes and genuinely wants them to perform their best on the field and in the classroom as he consistently preaches the importance of both. He won’t hold your hand to make sure that happens (because he shouldn’t have to, you as the STUDENT-athlete should want that), but will guide you in the right direction to be successful in both areas. He’ll also show his athletes tough love and call you out on things that you aren’t taking care of in the right way (again, it’s because he wants the best for his athletes). He’s a players coach as you can see his competitive spirit light up on competition days, which every athlete should want in a coach. In all, I was a transfer student, had a great experience in my short time at Southeastern, and wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to be my head coach during that time. "
