"My daughter was coached by Kai at SUU. She liked and respected Kai as a coach. My daughter’s confidence and skill on the field greatly improved under Kai’s coaching; he took her game to the next level.
"
"An amazing human being. Cares for you so deeply as a person and wants the best for you. So easy to talk to and incredibly knowledgeable of the game. "
"Kai truly cares about you as a person and a player. Many seem to correlate lack of playing time to him being abusive. Some just don’t belong in college athletics especially at the Division 1 level. Many who have transferred either quit soccer or went to a lower level program. He pushes you to be a better athlete and person. Kai develops strong and independent young women. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the game and wants his athletes to be as well. Kai has a strong, yet loving and respectful personality that many ignore. "
"Coach Kai has been a great influence on my daughter’s development as a college soccer player. Under his coaching, she has grown not only in technical skill but also in her understanding of the game and her confidence on the field. He provides clear instruction, high standards, and consistent feedback that push players to reach their full potential. I am incredibly grateful for the positive impact he has had on her soccer journey."
"Steven is a gem of a coach. He is the most honest, loving, god fearing coach I have ever met. He goes above and beyond the field for his players. A great motivator and knowledgeable beyond his year. Anything anybody else says is simply not true, players need to come to a program, ready, fit and prepared due to the ncaa giving them two weeks to figure it out. If you don’t play that’s on you. Don’t be proud that your ruined a man life for him trying to be the best and is the best. You never got what he was trying to achieve, people who boast other people failures are failures themselves!"
"Some players don’t wanna do what it takes to play division one soccer while other work year round to get better. You have to work hard to play. Kai and Steven will make you a better player and better person. Ex players wanna place blame on coaches for them not coming prepared or fit to play. The forget ncaa only gives us two weeks in fall to prepare for three months playing. Only the strong survive. You’re messing with people lively hoods. Trust me I’m a current player I love it here, don’t believe disrespectful players or parents. "
"Sent my daughter there she has an amazing time though there are players who don’t wanna do what it takes to play or they don’t take care of themselves on and off the field or in the class room. Kai and Steven have always placed the player before themselves. The mentorship they are provided is first class and I would highly recommend if you ever have a chance to play for either you do. Wonderful people great program. Haters hate. You gotta do the work to play. "
"Kai is the best human being on earth anybody who say else must not realize accountability, if a coach can’t hold his player accountable then who will, he mold his players and teaches them how to be organized and accountable for there actions, players must come to fall training fit, physical and mentally. If they have any mental health issues he will help them and point them in direction to get the proper help my daughter was a transfer didn’t play the first year for him she decided to retransfer to be closer to home and he and Steven helped her along the way. She no longer plays soccer not because of Kai but because of hateful teammates prior to SUU and parents who are just jealous that there daughters don’t do what needed to sustain playing at the highest level. However you have people hating on people and players being bad teammates thus why they were released by program. They know it and so does all the players and ex player. SUU rejects bad behavior and bad teammates. It’s a shame that people no longer hold there child accountable! "
"Kai Edwards is absolutely the worst soccer coach and prob human beings in the soccer world. He is completely unprofessional with how he speaks and texts with girls on the team. He is a horrible coach and only try's to turn the girls against each other for his own benefit. He leaked private information about my own daughter mental health struggles caused directly by him and then put a poster on the outside of her locker with the word "mental health" being the thing she needs to work on after she asked him for help and told him she was struggling bc of things he was saying and doing just to give 1 example, DO NOT PLAY FOR THIS PERSON. It took my daughter 2 years to get back to a place where she could work thru what she endured by Kai Edwards in her 1 year at SUU. Numbers of girls leaving in masses don't lie either does getting fired from multiple schools for NCAA violations.. plenty of girls talk openly about the abuse they endured on platforms reach out to them if you need confirmation. I hope he doesn't place the same abuse on his own daughter no one deserves to have to be around him. He is a perfect example of what a man ( or woman) should never be."
"I had a wonderful experience with Kai Edwards at SUU. In fact, as a transfer, I am sad that I wasn’t able to develop all four years under him. He is a fantastic person who develops you both on and off the field. When I came to SUU, I had a strong fear of what people thought of me and I don’t even recognize that version of me anymore! He didn’t allow me to remain distant from the team— he broke me out of my shell and taught me how to be a leader. I have never developed more as a player under any other coach. He took my game from mediocre to above average, giving me back my confidence. From the moment I came in, he never gave up on me, encouraging me and coaching me. He is always available— anytime I would ask for extra help, he made time to do 1 on 1 trainings outside of practice. You get what you give to the program. He strongly values hard work and players that listen (players that are coachable). Those that don’t do either will not get much playtime. Also, regarding turnaround, a lot of players come in and out of the program because Kai does not allow poor attitudes to exist within our team culture. He is an amazing person who works overtime for the program. In my years at SUU, I never saw someone have a bad experience who had a good attitude, worked hard, and was coachable. I am so grateful that I had the chance to play for him. He provided me an unforgettable experience."
"Steven has been an amazing asst coach for our daughter’s program at SUU. She always said if she wasn’t playing for Kai Edwards, she would only want to play for Steven. He’s kind, focused and listens to his players while encouraging them to be great students and future leaders. He’s passionate about the game and was always open to communication, willing to talk with an open door policy. He’s a great asset to SUU’s program. "
"Kai Edwards believes in his players. He hand selects players who he knows will benefit the team both on and off the field. He demands a “team” atmosphere, and expects the players to “leave it all on the field”after each practice or game. He had an open door policy welcoming the players to approach him with questions, issues, or concerns equally. We only had 2 years with him as our daughter’s coach and wish we had more time. He believed in her as an athlete and person. As parents, he treated us with respect and we absolutely loved the program and Coach Kai. If we had it to do all over again, we would have found Kai Edwards sooner to have enjoyed more time at SUU. We are truly sad our time is over. "
"Steven sat by Kai Edwards and never stood up for any of us athletes. People would go and ask for metal health help and Kai would laugh and Steven sat there like a b**** and never spoke up on the way we were treated. He’s a great coach but how can u sit there and watch ur athletes as an assistant coach and never say anything. Steven is just as guilty as Kai and it sucks bc I think deep down he has great morals but dropped them as soon and Kai started acting up. "
"Kia is a horrible human being. He took my daughter and multiple teammates to the point of suicide. He uses the team to bully other teammates to get them to quit. My daughter had a full ride for 4 years. DUring year two. He had the team tell everyone she was racist and they bullied her to the point she gave up the. Scholarship which is what Kai wanted. He's been fired twice for the mental abuse of his girls. Don't let your daughter play for him. He would drunk text the girls at night very inappropriate things. He is a terrible person. I feel bad for his wife and 2 kids."
"will ruin the experience for many. continues to tear down female athletes everyday. doesn’t communicate doesn’t care and surely has expressed he can’t really help with mental health. there a reasons 10 girls left after fall. and to end it all the school is so bad and boring. the list could go on and on about kai edwards but just don’t do it. he may sounds nice and sweet but it gets ugly quick "
"Richard Church, where do I start. He doesn’t attend practice. He accuses the players of embarrassing him for something he had no part of. The car rides to tournaments is dead quite due to the fact that no one wants to talk to him. If you win qualifying and aren’t Mormon that will count against you because in Richard’s words “you are always qualifying” he will bet you in the car that you won’t beat course records for “ every dollar in his pocket.”
Richard has made many people quit golf or despise him. Richard is not where I would send my kid to become an adult or learn anything about golf. He’s a phony and a fake "
