"Coach Fox has had a major impact on all of the guys on the team, above anything else Coach Fox will make sure that you believe in yourself. Coach Fox has a positive impact wherever he is. "
"Coach Fox knows how to create an atmosphere of team engagement and is devoted to his athletes. I’d say he treats his athletes like his children more so than a formal relationship. He really cares about his guys and it shows."
"Coach Fox brings a motivational aspect to every practice. He hypes the team up whenever he is at practice. As an athlete I know that he is always on the side of the athletes and he wants us to succeed in Rowing and life in general."
"Disrespectful coach who does not care about mental health or injuries. Athletes regress in his program and team has gotten last in AAC conference for years."
"Type of coach who only cares about certain players. Wants good for programs, but does not demonstrate the leadership mentality or personality that helps team cultures thrive at the division 1 level. The team culture was the worst it ever was when she was brought in, we actually grew apart based off her speaking with select players for information & gossiping. Knowledgable about the game, but did not buy into her talent & players. "
"Creates an unhealthy team culture built on fear and emotional distress. Athletes learn to hate their sport under her emotionally abusive and dishonest leadership. "
"I am an athletic alum… asked that he take a look at my player.. blew me off. Thank God! Previous comments seemed accurate definitely dodged a bullet "
"Worst coach I have ever had. He really should look into a different career path. There is no coaching style at all, he gave me an eating disorder, he created the worst team culture I have ever seen in my life, he is actually just not a good coach. "
"He does not care about his team. He does nothing for us. Half the time he doesn’t even want to be there. He tells us one thing and when we do that he yells at us and tells us to do it another way. He is degrading. He says inappropriate things to us. He has no idea what he is doing and freaks under pressure. Our assistant coach is more of a coach then him. He goes to her for all the advice. Seamus should not be coaching Womens soccer. He does not know how too. "
"She is definitely very passionate about the sport itself. She has worked at Temple for 5+ years and has never won a conference championship, despite having rowers on National teams. Not for lack of talent, but definitely ineffective coaching style."
"Brian is an extremely knowledgeable and passionate coach. He really pushed me to be a bette épauler and when I was part of the squad but not quite part of the starting 11, he used my role in the squad and knowledge of the game to keep me motivated and involved."
"Brian Perkins is a fantastic coach. He took the position as head coach after the previous coach was promoted to coach emeritus. He is new to the head coaching position in his second year for the 2017-2018 school year, but things are looking quite promising. He always is keeping tabs on individual athletes as well as the team as a whole. "
"I played for Rod Carey. Right when Rod took over at NIU, the vibe of the team slowly declined from there. Rod lies to walk-ons about scholarships and absolutely NO ONE on the team wants to play for him. He had his favorite 5 players, then he treats other players/GAs/coaches like shit. He's a liar and I hope he is on his way out. "
"This is a honest review of coach Mauro. 1. He has no tennis coaching experience as he use to be a hockey coach. 2. Racist. Back track the roster and you will see that there are no African American players that finished 4 years. 3. High drop out rate. 2015-2016 (only 5 people on the team for a 6 people game!) 4. His son played and he can barely hit..."
"Best Head coach/Foil coach in the business. Our team is definitely a family and she is the matriarch. I would never trade Coach Franke for anyone else."
"Coach Carey was a pretty great coach overall. I did not have much interaction with him, but when we did, it was mainly positive, but now always. With that being said, I am aware that we will not always have positive interactions with everyone in our lives. That is okay! Life goes on."
"There is only a professional relationship with him. Practices are the same everyday. Fitness beyond volleyball is extremely challenging. Time-consuming activities outside of volleyball. Is very indirect- has his assistants do his communication for him. Focuses too much on volleyball- is fun only when in a good mood, no team bonding activities except traveling and senior night. Team is slowly turning into a a team of internationals."
"Coach Fox has coached me the most over the last year. Since joining Temple crew, You started off with his direct coaching and fantastic drills. He was the guy that every boat wanted to be coached by. Despite me being in a slower boat, My situation was invaded by the upperclassman. Whatever boat he coached ended up, beating the boats that were supposed to be Quicker. He Coached the 4V and we beat the 3V consistently. His coaching style was so direct, and he made sure that you understood what he was trying to coach. He put a lot of effort on the water and off the water to make sure you felt like you knew it was happening, and you knew how to get better. His drills would just change a Boat and increased its speed exponentially.
I said the biggest impact though is how he changed communication in the team. He made asking questions about practice, school, and life super easy. Anytime there felt like there was any communication issues. Coach Fox would smooth them out. If anyone felt like they were being left out, or misheard, or mistreated, Coach Fox took care of you and made sure you felt like you were being understood and supported. He talked to other athletes and other coaches. I feel like I can text him about anything anytime and know that he’s there to help me. If there are any confusing changes or things that could bother the athletes, Coach Fox will make sure that everything goes OK.
I’m a sophomore on Temple universities crew team and I can tell you that Coach Fox is the main reason why I can call Temple crew my place to relax, grow, and enjoy amongst my busy class schedule. "
