"I wish I could give this coach 0 stars but you have to at least give one for each category. Although she is a decorated lacrosse player, she is an awful coach. She has ruined this program. The environment she has created is awful. Players hate this coach to the point where they are deciding to end their careers and not even transfer. They quit and don’t even want to have a conversation with her once they decide it’s over. She has ruined lacrosse as a whole for most of the players on the team besides the few she decides can do no wrong. She is manipulative and knows how to twist words to make you feel like you are in the wrong. Most of the players are depressed and feel they can never do anything right. The only thing holding the team together is the trauma bond. The coach needs to walk away from the program or needs to be fired. Too many talented players have ended their careers mid season not because they are weak, but because Kristen Carr DRAINS THE LIFE OUT OF YOU. Her words and smile are deceiving. She is a mean horrible human being. "

"Not all great players make great coaches! Not a good leader and the anssistants are awful. Look at the defense and the star goalie from last year is 30% at best. Use the bench! Team morale is down and there is No communication or feedback. Look at the stats. Players quitting, wins are lower each year. Something NEEDS to change!!"

"Be prepared to start seeing a therapist after playing on this woman’s team. The only reason Towson extended her contact is because the school simply does not care about TUWS or how they do. The team is not one of its revenue boosters, and in fact, the women’s soccer program would have been cut at the same time as the men’s program if it were not for Title IX. I think Katherine’s husband may be a lawyer with wealthy friends/backers, so that could also be why. Anyways, this woman is a nightmare of a coach. Will make you hate the sport of soccer. It took me a year and a half after playing for her to touch a ball again. I am now years removed from playing for her so I have had time to let emotions settle and truly reflect on my time with her, and even after all this time, I can report that my hate of her still remains just as strong. "

"Katherine Vettori comes across as this sweet, happily married, mom of two daughters who cares about her players as humans, but while she may be married and mom of two…. this woman could NOT CARE LESS about her players!! Katherine Vettori thinks of only herself. Obviously with a team full of 20+ girls, there is bound to be some drama. However, the drama is not created by the team, the drama is created by Katherine herself. Katherine is like a preteen girl. She enjoys talking to players about other players and enjoys creating a negative, toxic environment that she can then come in and play interventionist in. She is also a head coach IN NAME ONLY. Her assistant coaches, specifically Matt Dwyer, are the true head coaches when it comes to the actual soccer aspect of it all. Katherine barely knows the game of soccer. She relies on everyone else’s knowledge of the game to get her through. Also, GOD FORBID you ever get injured while on this woman’s team. You are dead to her. Forget the sweet, mom of two who cares about you and makes you cookies. She would rather you go pick up cones than check to see how you are doing during your recovery. If you polled 3/4 of any of the teams she has coached (at least since being at Towson) you would get the same sentiments. I played for a lot of coaches across many different sports growing up and into early adulthood, and I can honestly say my dislike of Katherine Vettori far exceeds any coach I have ever had. PLEASE think twice before committing to play for this woman. "

"If you are committed to play for Kristen Carr, please take my advice and decommit for your own good. She runs an authoritarian style team, and will make you wish you never came. I have seen players go from being bubbly and happy people to depressive and fearful due to the environment she has created and the way she treats them. Her reputation doesn’t lie, ask around Towson athletics a bit and see how the people she interacts with everyday view her, it’s her way or no way. The team has suffered from the environment she has created, and it has shown in their record the last 3 years she has been their coach vs the previous coaching staff. 9 players have quit within her 3 years of being there, not transferring, but quitting and not finishing the year out which she has kept quiet to preserve her reputation. Towson’s athletic director should be ashamed that there has been numerous reports and 9 people quit, but he has done nothing because there’s “no proof of her doing these things”. Shame on you, do your job for the sake of the young women on the team who did not sign up for this."
