"My experience with her showed a coach that was pragmatic, and extermely knowledgable on the subject of swimming, those are the only true positive things I can say about her. While not intentially agressive nor purposely harsh on swimmers and divers, I believe her biggest problem is negligance and her inability to effectively communicate and encourage the athletes on the team to be themselves and to encourage a positive energy. At times she lets her emotional outbursts get in the way of some practices, other times she does not consider the perspectives of other atheles on the team and consistantly negagted the fustriations felt on the team. Consequentially, this helped to contribute to an environment of petty trash talking and stress that created an environment not fit for any atheltic program. While certain things are developing and I am sure that the problems on the team will be accounted for, this includes her personnal flaws, long after I am gone, I do believe it has to start with her establishing a better relationship with others not as a coach but as a caring and sensitive induvidual that is aware of the problems on the team.
For any swimmer or diver thinking aobut Union College, I do think there are better programs out there and Union College and currently, it is not worth it considering the lack of encouragement and lesser energy on the team.

"Schenectady is really boring and there isn't really anything there. My parents had a great time but I didn't enjoy it as much. The coachs were very helpful but the team was a little weird. I didn't like the campus"
"Doesn't keep commitments. Lies to recruits. Does not know how to develop and run systems. Doesn't have experienced or knowledgeable assistant coaches. Unaware of major issues off ice. "
"Coach Murphy is a good person at heart, but not the right fit to coach a collegiate level basketball team. I can honestly say that I left campus significantly worse at the game of basketball than I entered it and left effectively stripped of all of my passion for the game in general. I can’t attribute this to anything other than Coach Murphy, his coaching style, and how he runs his practices. His practices offered virtually no skill development, making it almost impossible to improve my skillset. Instead, for the first hour we participated in elementary drills involving pivot foot and triple threat position. The second hour turned into football practice with aggressive every man for themself defensive drills. The last 15 or so minutes we would spend going over plays that generated little success. My teammates were my brothers and I loved every second of the years I got to spend with them, but Coach Murphy took away my love for the game. "
"Toxic, manipulative, bullies players she does not like, yet favors a select few players. Is a very smooth-talker and involved in players lives, but it is extremely overbearing (would spy on our Venmo accounts!), yet once in season you quickly realize why she has never coached a winning season in over 10 years. Nice freshman year, but once makes up her mind about a player, refuses to believe in them or even help them develop on her team, instead bullies them into quitting!"
"Stay away from this coach, promises everything to her players, but delivers nothing but a toxic manipulative environment where she emotionally abused select players on her team. Very nice at first freshman year, but becomes horrible once she decides she does not like you, is not a favorite and gets “sick of you.” former players have come forward about her actions once graduated, but she never faces consequences "
"While kind to some players and means well, she lacks honesty or transparency with her team. Tends to say one thing in public, but a completely different thing to other players in private. Claims to have an open environment, yet when players actually go to her for help (fh related or not) she ends up using it against them or just makes things worse"
"She really tries, but she needs to be more honest with her players. She tends to tell us one thing, and then does the exact opposite. She also isn't great at dealing with problems, in most cases she makes them worse. "
"Inhibited my growth both as a player and as a person. I can honestly say, I am a worst player now than when I started 4 years ago. Very out of touch with his players, and very difficult to talk to. Does not feel like he’s got your back.
I never got the chance to play, even just a few minutes in a preseason scrimmage. I doubted my love for basketba"
"Coach Harchetts is kind, very knowledgeable about the sport, played goalie herself so she's a good goalie-coach as well as for field players. She balances running drills half the practice, then scrimmaging, and finishing with running corners. She cares a lot but is a little awkward. She's not a yeller– I wish she was a little more intense."
"Year started OK. Did not deal with team drama and should have dealt with players causing drama but didn't because they are his "Stars". Sucks at feedback. Doesn't give clear guidance on how to improve. Screwed over some recent commits by taking away their commitments. Doesn't listen to his players. D coach sucks too."

"Question his honesty. Story changes to suit his needs. Plays favourites if it suits his purpose. Will bench a player who deserves it but not another who should be. Does not honor commitments and screwed over players who were committed by de committing them. Selfish, huge ego and it's all about him. Claims he's the reason team had a few wins. "
"Coach Riggi is possibly one of the most dedicated coaches I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. His commitment to the team is seen every day by the amount of time and effort he puts in. He is what truly makes the team strong either upfront or behind the scenes."
"Bad coach; Terrible manager of players, their parents, his coaching staff, and people in general; The worst recruiter I've ever seen; Plays favorites and grants those favorites massive green lights despite horrible shooting precentages; Benches the best players because of petty dislike in favor of players that brown nose him; Uses captains as informants instead of extensions of himself; Almost 40% of the players on Coach Murphy's roster on the first day of practice last year have since quit, 3 of whom quit during the actual season"
"The athletic facilities at Union are nice, but the soccer field is on the other side of campus. Kind of inconvenient, but it is great for other sports. "
