"What you see is not what you get with Shauna. I can't think of a bigger fraud. She would make an excellent politician. Puts players at risk of injury or further injury by making them play when they shouldn't. She is not a genuine person nor is she honest. She plays favorites and uses a one size fits all approach. No individuality for players. The players stay because Fayetteville is a great place and Mike Adams is a blessing. Without Mike, the team would be miserable."
"This coach exhibits a stark lack of genuine care for the athletes under his guidance, prioritizing the business aspect of coaching over their well-being. While every coach may face ups and downs, it appears that the downs have outweighed the ups in his case, raising questions about his suitability for a leadership role within an all-girls program. Perhaps a different environment, such as not coaching at all, needs to be looked into and explored.
His coaching style seems to revolve around pushing athletes to their breaking point, with little regard for their physical or mental limits. When athletes fail to meet his expectations, he resorts to placing blame on them rather than reflecting on his coaching methods. Despite claiming to value academics and mental health, his actions speak otherwise, as he fails to support athletes dealing with issues outside of swimming, bringing them down instead of lifting them up.
It's disheartening to note that he views his athletes merely as part of his job, lacking genuine concern for their personal growth and well-being. His tendency to make inappropriate comments both publicly and behind the scenes further illustrates a disregard for the athletes' dignity and respect. Additionally, his failure to acknowledge the challenges faced by college students, expecting them to prioritize swimming above all else, is concerning.
After years of observation, it becomes apparent that his personality as a caring coach is merely a fake show. The disconnect between his public image and his true character raises doubts about his suitability for the role of head coach. Ultimately, it's imperative to prioritize the development and well-being of athletes, qualities that seem to be lacking in this coach's approach."
"Neil is a true SEC coach. He is old timey sometimes so yes he has gotten better about what he says and how he says it. He wants hard work and effort and in return will be a great person/coach. He is a true SEC level coach and anybody who has left can’t handle the SEC level, great person and cares a lot about family "
"Overuses his players and doesn't care about you if you don't perform. When I went there, he wasn't very considerate to my point of view. Disrespectful"
"Shaped University of Arkansas football to become a better program. He is a very nice Coach towards everyone. Sort of a celebrity in Fayetteville considering what he has done for the program and team. "
"Has taken University of Arkansas Football and turned it around. Gaining momentum in the game. Came in and kind of restarted with a whole new staff and team but it has proven to be successful thus far. Hoping for even more success. "
"He expects a lot out of you and will work you hard to get you where he needs you to be athletically. It is hard to get feedback from him sometimes and he is a poor communicator. But the team is great and usually makes up for what he lacks. "
"Such a great experience with Coach Harter. He truly cares about his athletes. He has one of the greatest historic programs in the country with tons of success. With that comes hard coaching at times and hard training. This being said, he always takes care of his athletes. "
"Good coach with areas for improvement. Championship culture and training go hand in hand. Some of the training at Arkansas will not work for everyone. "
"A great knowledgeable coach from university to Olympic experience. He knows just about everything there is to know about pole vault and the process behind it. University of Arkansas is a track program known for championships. This making it an intense and historic program to be a part of. You have to be able to handle tough workouts, competition, and criticism. If you can do that you will be successful together. "
"A quick in and out trip, getting to everything you need to do or see in a short amount of time. This team is known for winning championships and that is a known culture here, so it is taken seriously. Coming here you have to be ready to put in the time and work to focus and get your part done. This being said it is not for everyone, it is hard work but a lot of fun if you love your sport. Team dynamics are competitive you are with the best of the best in the country/world and you push each other every day. "
"I cannot say enough good things about the resources and facilities at disposal here. This University caters to their athletes success more than I have ever seen. The facilities for the track and field program are one of the best in the country, indoor and outdoor. "
"Players coach, hard working and student athlete commitment, always direct but creates an environment that is both fun and challenging, parents should love it that their son is being developed in a positive way"
"I really enjoyed my time playing for coach Nabes. We all have our faults but I believe he coached me to the best of his abilities. We had some differences but who doesn't in a competitive environment. I'd play for him again. "
"Very passionate about winning and like most coaches can occasionally say things he does not mean and you must take what he says with a grain of salt. My biggest complaint as one of his past players was how he still has yet to adopt the possessive/skillful tactic. He will play whatever style he needs to win, even if that is kick ball. "
"Petra is a very accessible, down-to-earth coach that cares deeply about her team and swimmers. She is intense, but fun, and expects the best from her swimmers. She has worked hard to cultivate a championship culture on the teams she has worked with. "
"Wonderful COACH, very knowledgable, keeps things interesting, but she is not the most understanding of what it is like being a division 1 athlete in this day and age though she herself has competed at this level. Very strong and stubborn."
"Alec is now assistant coach at Univesity of Arkansas. He is very motivated and wants the best for his team. He is understanding, but wants you to be honest. He knows athletes can only push themselves as hard as they want, but he is there to push with you. He’s a gem. Be honest with him and give his hard work "
"There is no denying that he is one of the most knowledgeable coaches and has the ability to see potential in athletes. His coaching style is something the athlete has to adapt to, he will not change his ways. Can be stern and is not always the best at communication. He is definition of tough love, he cares about athletes but doesn't like showing it and is harder on athletes he sees the most in. "
