"Suzanne is a major contributor to negative mental health issues on the team. She not only looks away from major drug issues but seems to favor players who take illicit and hard-core drugs. Playing time is directly correlated to how much the girls parents have donated to the program. I haven't even gotten to her lack of lacrosse IQ nor her inability to switch strategies mid-game. She's not qualified to run a high school program let alone a D1 program. Stay away from this program. "
"Matt Kitchen is the best in the business! He is punctual and dialed in on timelines 100% of the time! If you want a program to function at its highest level, he is the man for the job!"
"Good at developing and making athletes first and then working on technique. Program can be plyometric heavy, neither good or bad dependent on the athlete. Is good at building a connection with athletes and getting to know them. Can be very understanding if communication stay open and respectful"
"He is no longer at Academy of Art and now at UC Davis. Surprised UC Davis coach hired a person who looks down on players. Told me he would help me with my academics and never followed through. Stopped communicating with me all together."
"Alex had/has no business coaching softball. You can be a decent player and a horrible coach and she is the perfect example of that. She took accomplishments of her players that had zero to do with her and acted as though it was all her. No coach at the college level should be preaching "squish the bug" and then claim they know everything there is to know about hitting. I feel like our entire team got worse by having her for barley a single season."
"The players and assistant coaches are afraid to speak up. There is no trust in this coach. The players are all vying against each constantly for positions or time on the field so there is no unity with the team. "
"I would NOT recommend this coach to any young player. He pits players against each other, and does not protect players from careless tackles in practice against each other. He values long distance running stamina over any other skill/aspect of the game. "
"Coach Emma always makes me want to perform my best! She’s one of the most bubbly people I know and brings such a good energy to practice. She’s super passionate about coaching us to reach our fullest potential, so she’ll definitely tell you when she’s super proud of you or when she’s disappointed. However, when she does show disappointment in our performances it’s only because she believes in us so much and knows when we didn’t run to our full potential. "
"Really gets to know you he cares far more about you than jsut volleyball he cares about you as a person and student. Great communication always checks in. Great with giving and receiving feed back"
"No courtesy to his players. Not respectful to his own players’ problems and undermines them in order to force them to play. Puts down players for different methods of success and over treats whoever follows his method even though others succeed in their own way. Constantly treats his players horribly. "
"Will put down his own team in the name to respect the other team. Will be biased on his own players by heavily befitting the star player and treating the rest with no concern. Has a clear lack of class when it comes to sharing information to their players at the right time. No coaching during practice and hardly any help in matches. "
"Dwayne's style is very much old school. He tends to recruit big, strong, and fast players. He values athleticism over vision, skill, or IQ. He oftentimes exhibits power-trips that serve to discredit his coaching abilities. I remember him telling his assistants to "sit down, you're not the head coach." A lot of politics on this team. "
"A very experienced college coach that's been around the game a long time. Will answer most questions and is understanding of an athlete's circumstances/conflicts. Unfortunately he is getting older. It is apparent he is losing energy, intensity, and becoming a little forgetful. The respect for him may be lower than it should be for a D1 coach. "
"Coach Hawk is a great leader and motivational speaker. He is constantly trying to grow as a coach and as a man. He always preaches about the balance of life."
"I honestly love being coached by Barb and hope that I keep in touch with her after my college career is done. Her and Pete are a good balance as a coaching duo as well. "
"Barb is a great woman with a lot of experience and leadership in swimming. She cares a lot about people on the team, not just as swimmers, but as students and people. "
"Coach Tee is awesome! She is very passionate about the sport and very competitive! She is the coach that will get UC Davis to a higher ranking. She's an all around fair coach. She's all about working as a unit no matter what year you are. "
"It is not a surprise that Dan Hawkins is no longer in coaching. It's apparent his success at Boise State was more due to Chris Peterson, and now that Mike Macintyre has brought the Buffs back to relevance it's clear that Hawkins had a negative impact on the Colorado football program."
"She may know the game decently but struggles to view players in a fair light and treat the whole team with respect. She creates a hierarchy that starts divisions within the team and does not stick with players post college:("
"Coach Emma wears her heart on her sleeve! Very good at developing relationship with her athletes and relating to them. Can get a bit caught up sometimes on what is best for some athletes vs other athletes. She and her husband are a good team, and good at cultivating a positive environment."
