"You'd think after all the sweat and tears Olivia poured into training, he’d at least get a nod in the spotlight. Instead, there was Marko, strutting around like he single-handedly brought home the trophy—never mind the late nights Olivia spent creating those killer sets or the pep talks that had swimmers fired up and ready to give it their all.
She’s also incredibly insightful. If I’m struggling with a technique, she takes the time to break it down. And she doesn’t just bark orders; she explains why certain moves work and how they fit into the bigger picture. Her ability to communicate makes it so much easier to learn and grow.
So yeah, she’s a great coach—not just because she knows the ins and outs of swimming, but because she genuinely cares about her tam. She inspires us to work hard, cheer each other on, and most importantly, have fun. With her at the helm, every practice and game feels less like a chore and more like an adventure."
"It’s kind of sad, really. Here’s this dedicated coach Zac, passionate about his role, who genuinely wants to see his team succeed. And then there’s incompetent Marko, riding the wave of glory while Zac stands off to the side, scratching his head and wondering if anyone even noticed his impact."

"The team at UCSD deserves better than a coach who relies on borrowed credibility and superficial solutions. They deserve a leader who has experience in taking the ownership of their own successes and failures, someone who recognizes the distinct challenges of collegiate athletics as opposed where the coach is from the sheltered environments such as private club. The university setting demands integrity, strategy, and most importantly, a commitment to the athletes' well-being above all else."

"Marko is taking credit for something that David Marsh has done. Marko’s bad coaching caused many injuries. A turnover rate of his staff is alarming. He has been reported for misconduct He coaches by fear and backstabbing. He promotes the same culture through the team. Abuse alert!"
"I played on this team for 4 years, and those are 4 years I won’t get back. Brad loves to win, which I guess can be good. However, he’s coached this program for more than 20 years, and we’ve never been close to winning Big West championships, let alone NCAA. Brad will overplay the starting lineup, berating them when they mess up and grind them to a pulp. The bench is shallow, too with other players getting little to no playing time. It shocks me that he is still the head coach here, especially after all of the complaints my teammates have sent in about him."
"Lacks integrity as a coach. Was verbally abusive and manipulative of players while coaching at CMS. Broke multiple NCAA rules in D3, banking on the fact that rules in D3 are very relaxed and rarely enforced. Should be removed from the college soccer scene."
"Rowed at Cal for Bond. Great coach, made boats go fast. Contributed speed to a lot of national champions. Nobody is more excited to wake up and coach more than this man. You can tell he wakes up, spends all day thinking about rowing, lineups, athletes, etc then goes to bed. Lives and breathes this sport with a passion unlike anyone else I’ve seen. Seriously inspires you to want to absolutely push yourself to maximum exertion. Will take every possible step to squeeze out as much speed as possible. Understanding, calm and cool outside of practice. Knows how to create speed in a boat, and a fun and positive culture outside. Leaves it all on the water."
"Unique experience to be coached by this man. His intensity and enigmatic character can only be described as one of a kind. Yes he can be scary. Some may describe as “mean”, but don’t let him hear that or you’ll be doing pieces until you’re regurgitating off port side. As a millennial cal rower, I appreciated this and I did feel as though he cared about his athletes despite his often surly demeanor - which was taken in good humor considering the elite nature of our team and goal for an IRA gold (which we accomplished btw). Perhaps a coach of a bygone era but still effective in making boats go fast and, for many, turning boys into men. "
"This man knows exactly how to take any program from whatever stage it is in to winning races. Put him in a high level program, and see them raise the standard and win more. Put him in a bottom tier program, watch them quickly rise through the ranks. Wish I could do another four years with him."
"Lucky to have rowed under Geoff for 4 years. In my opinion, he was the epitome of a great coach. Made it very clear what it took to be GREAT and would give you every possible tool to become GREAT. Always available 24/7 to help athletes with absolutely anything, athletics or unrelated. Not only made us faster, but made us into better leaders, people, and athletes. Created a tight nit family who I still talk to all the time. Miss the glory days."
"Rowing under Geoff was the best thing that's happened to me. I learned leadership skills, and pushed myself to achieve goals I never thought myself capable of. He is extremely knowledgeable about rowing, stemming from his 20 years working under and rowing for Gladstone. Extremely passionate too. Brought in amazing recruits, transformed our culture from that of a club team to that of a top tier IRA team. Very caring and available, always checking in with athletes, being flexible with practice schedules, etc. Extremely professional, kind, and caring. My teammates and I agree that he is a rare coach who makes it obvious that he cares and wants nothing but the best for his athletes. "
"Coach Darcy is all around an AMAZING coach. I have had a multitude of coaches my track career and none compare to Darcy. She is the most supportive, understanding, positive yet realistic coach I have had. In college to have a coach who cares tremendously about her athletes on the field and off is rare, Darcy is that! "
"Worst coach i've ever had!!!!!!! Shouldn't be allowed to coach. Degrades players give no encouragement. made multiple players quit b/c they couldnt stand his program. "
"Great knowledge and has a burning passion for this game. If he sees potential in you he will work very hard with you, if not you may not exist to him. Finally I felt he had trouble communicating with his players, the TBC (Triton Baseball Council) hindered him from connecting and being more personal with all his players instead of just the TBC"
"Tony is very knowledgable about the throwing events he coaches at UCSD. He offers a great training schedule and makes his athletes feel completely comfortable and confident in their abilities. He is approachable and a truly genuine man who loves each of his athletes as individuals and pushes them to do their best. He has helped me immensely in the javelin throw and he is the most respectable coach i have ever had."
"Great coach who loves the game and wants to see his players succeed not only on the field but off the field. Really good job at developing players and growing yourself as a person."
"Coach Zac is very passionate about the sport. He gives off positive vibes all the time and does his homework about what you can improve on. I have so many good memories associated with Coach Zac. I'm grateful I got the chance to learn from him and grow as a person."
