"Doesn’t care about his athletes. I watched him deny a swimmer the opportunity to go to her grandfathers funeral in early October, not even meet season. All she asked was to miss one practice, and she was raised by her grandfather too! I also listened to him one time threaten an assistant coach that he would cut the assistants favorite swimmer if the coach didn’t do what he said. He’s toxic, a terrible coach, leader, and role model. Another swimmer’s run in: a new transfer was recruited, and then three days before school started, after he had already signed a lease and moved to Wisconsin, Whitney told him that his acceptance to the school had been revoked for whatever reason. When the recruit contacted the dean and athletic department, he learned this was not true. In fact, Whitney was trying to fill the new recruit’s spot with a different athlete. These are not one off instances, and they represent the character of the individual well. I am not surprised he was forced out of the Wisconsin athletics department. I can only hope he has changed as a person and coach at his new position at Florida, but for some reason I highly doubt that. "

"Having been to visit UF and their athletic facilities, I can say it was amazing to be there and be able to soak everything in. Their athletic dining hall is so nice and there is many options for the athletes there. Their track and weight room are also very nice!"

"Billy Napier Is a Great person and an amazing person to look up to, but Hes a terrible coach and should not touch a power four school, much less th University of florida. I personally played with him as a walk on his first two years and even though the locker room was fine, he was just a terrible coach. He lost us games, made terrible play calling, and over all was just not good at all. Hes extremely stubborn in his ways and whoever would go against him, he would call out. The gators need change and its been enough time, Billy needs to leave and DJ has to step up right now. "

"Majority of former players can’t stand Coach Walton as proven by few attending annual alumni. Very dishonest person who is a master of smoke and mirrors. Check his HS recruits over last 7-9 years - 50% made it through the program. Extreme narcissist who doesn’t let his coaches speak for themselves - controls everything - but then blames assistant coaches when things go wrong. Promotes a “me” environment…."

"His few favourites get looked after well. If you’re not lucky enough to be one of those, you are forced to deal with constant abuse and harassment. He makes negative comments on your body, your intelligence, your future success in life… the list goes on. He screams at you. He will insult you regularly and expect you to stand there and take it, often in front of others. He attempts to make you feel entirely worthless. After I left the program, I regularly had nightmares and flashbacks about him and was later diagnosed with C-PTSD due to the trauma he caused. He is the worst human being I’ve ever met and the way he treats college athletes is disgusting. He is an extremely damaging man. "
