"As a distance runner these facilities are not great. There’s no track and running around campus is sketchy. They are finally building a track which has been promised for decades which is a plus. The gym hours could be better especially for accessing treadmills. Weekdays it’s open 8am- 10pm and on weekends 10am- 6pm"
"One of the coolest coaches I have ever met. He cares about his athletes and treats us all equally with the respect we deserve. He always checks up on me when I am at the athletic trainers and will greet me with a smile and a fist bump. He came at an unexpected time where our previous throwers coach left in the fall to take a new position somewhere else. He stepped immediately into his new role and has impacted the throwers in an amazing way with school records being broken nearly every week with athletes peaking at the right time. He is the perfect sidekick to Coach Green and being an athlete of their program has been an ultimate pleasure."
"He motivates me to be the best person I can be athletically and academically. He is not someone who I like to make upset so I always do my best to stay on top of things so that he can be proud of me, which I know he is. Coach Green is an amazing coach and he has turned around the program for the better after many people thought it would fall to pieces with the school turning to D3 and a controversial head coach of the past. He gives Hartford Track & Field a bright future and all I want to do is make him proud."
"My son has been coached by Coach Everett for two years and has had a very positive experience. Coach Everett is a top performer in running and is very knowledgeable about the sport. He has devised a great training program and motivates my son which has led to a lot of improvement in his performance. He is a good communicator and it is clear that he cares about his athletes. "
"During our visit to the University of Hartford, we toured the athletic facilities and Coach Green had his office door open. He was very welcoming to my son and answered all our questions and connected well with our son. This school and athletic program is highly recommended. "
"We visited the University of Hartford during a weekend that was geared toward prospective students. We toured the academic buildings and athletic facilities with a tour guide and were very impressed with the school. After the tour, we followed up by stopping into a couple of the academic buildings that were of interest to my son. One of the tenured professors greeted us at the front of the building that housed his department and he asked my son questions and gave us an additional tour of his department and made the extra effort to introduce my son to a 3rd year student athlete in my son's sport. This made us feel like the faculty is very invested in the success of the students and strive to create well-rounded students. "
"The promised outdoor track is finally being built! Instead of running at a nearby high school track, we will finally have our own track in the fall of 2024. This is a big step in the college seeing track/field as important to the school."
"Coach Hackett works hard to get to know each athlete. He cares about them both as athletes and students. He has a strong running IQ and can apply that to each of the runners in the program."
"Everett has been my coach for one year and during that year my running improved significantly. He motivates all of us to be the best runner we can be which was definitely shown at the championship meets where everyone significantly improved from the heat before. I can not wait for another year! "
"Coach Green is an athletes coach. He’s been an athlete at the college level and understands what we’re all going through. That being said at times it feels like he makes comments or jokes as if he is one of the athletes which aren’t completely appropriate coming from a coach. At the end of the day he will do everything he can to be the best coach for each and every athlete and he cares about the success of every athlete and the team more then most coaches."
"I am on the distance team, but every interaction that I've had with Dante has been positive. He is organized, responds to text really quickly and is fun to talk to. He is very knowlegable on a variaty of topics. "
"Coach Green can be sarcastic and passive agressive, but I think that's what makes him a good coach. When he needs to be serious, he can be. He responds to texts really quickly and is very easy to talk to. He knows his athletes and he knows how to get them to succeed. Coach Green is also very funny."
"Dr. Beverly helped us get rid of our old cross country and track coach, which was awesome. She was very helpful and was willing to meet with the team and hear all of us out. "
"Denise is very important for UHart athletes. Every time an assignment is late and she gets a notification, I get an email from her within minutes. She is very helpful and also very understanding. She's a huge part of why many athletes here succeed academically."
"I had a great time on my tour! I came here with my dad and they did a great job of including him in the tour. Very fun group of guys and the coaches were also very funny"
"The track is being build which is awesome. Our lockerroom is the public lockerroom, which is not awesome. Athletic training room is very nice and the trainers are also nice. "
"Now head coach- Has obvious favorites not based on skill level. Lack of communication. Dishonest. Not motivating. Creates a toxic team environment. Does not develop players. Causes distress in players on the field and bench. Is not concerned about players wellbeing. "
"Plays favorites, pays attention to his favorite athletes and feeds into the team drama. Won’t hesitate to make you feel small, will also act unprofessionally and talk about other staff. "
"Green is a great guy and great coach. Cares a lot about the well-being of the team and athlete as an individual. He could be tougher. He could also focus more on workouts. But he knows how to keep people healthy, and that is his focus."
"Takes care of his athletes and creates real connections with them. He is extremely knowledgeable and is very good at taking care of his athletes both mentally and physically"
"Great Coach. Very understanding and mindful of athletes’ mental health. Creates a great environment for athletes and is very involved with athletes as individuals."
"Coach Connor Green is an exceptional person as well as a coach. He makes sure to treat each athlete as a person first, and will have a conversation with someone if their morale is low. He is also very funny and has a great personality. Connor cheers on everyone and does not show favoritism towards specific athletes :)"
"Amazing Coach, he puts everyone’s health and well-being before anything. He does not have favorites and treats everyone with respect. He brings the whole team together better than I’ve ever experienced before. It’s unfair that I can only give him 5 stars instead of 10"
"Coach Nardi put little to no effort into showing up/creating practice plans. We did the same drills everyday even though they were not key things that we needed to work on. He really did the bare minimum and had a very hands off approach which I usually like, but she was not involved at all. Was very negative and never cheered/encouraged her players. Very low energy and never cheered or was positive "
"Coach Nardi, although having some lacrosse knowledge, has no knowledge on how to treat her players. She picks on players & makes them feel worthless during practices while having favorites that can never do wrong in her eyes. She barely showed up to practices but would expect you to make lacrosse your number one priority, even over school. She was not someone that was easily approachable & would ignore players texts/calls when they needed guidance. She wanted to be accessible/on campus as little as she possibly could. "
"Played under her all of college, she was extremely inconsistent. She never showed up to practice and then expected us to give up family events, jobs, school for her. She picked on specific players and favorited others. She NEVER stayed true to her word. She also does not recruit. "
"I had Jen Nardi as a coach and she would not show up, would leave most of the work to the assistant coaches who were also in school, and she was not accessible to players "
"The fields are super cool but the wheight room is tiny and we don’t have a lot of access to it. Most locker rooms are shared or the track team doesn’t have any of their own facilities. They have been talking about updating things for years and it never happens. Teams don’t get half as much stuff as most teams and a lot of times things are broken and not working. It’s not terrible but not great."
"Coach nardi was quick to call out players in front of the team and even if it wasn’t you it always made you feel bad as she attacked your teammate. She would say aggressive things to people and her emotions showed through her coaching. I was only with her for a year but she wasn’t very knowledgeable and I avoided practices."

"Coach Morrison is a very odd person and she does not talk much but whenever she did it was usually to yell at someone. I’m sure she is a fine person but playing for her was not enjoyable and I often Just questioned what was going on in her head. I felt like she was threatened by good players and thus tried to tear them down by telling them to do things in ways that made no sense or were below the level of play a college lacrosse player is at. She doesn’t seem to know that much about lacrosse and I never enjoyed spending time with her she kinda scared me. She might be a great person but playing for her was not fun."
"Very little lacrosse IQ, it’s more like she coaches just because she didn’t want to get a job and this was all she knows and therefore it’s easy but she doesn’t seem to actually care about coaching or for her players. It’s like it’s more so she can have a schedule to vacation a lot and have drinking buddies. She is also very controlling and I’ve seen here coach kids to not do things like BTBs and then I’ve also seen her teach kids to do things that they should not be doing at the collegiate level anymore. Very unorganized and pucks and chooses when to show up. I could go on for days, I do not recommend this coach or school."
"If you are not on a full ride do not plan on seeing any playing time, it's as if you don't exist if you are not on full ride or if you do not have any sort of scholarship. If you try to go and talk to him about why you don't play, even if you have improved, he still says the same thing over and over again. If you are beating teams 6-0 you can still count on not playing. He never uses the bench."
"There is nothing to dislike about the guy. He does everything that a coach is supposed to do but does it 10x better. He makes you motivated and want to achieve your goals. He puts just enough pressure for us to succeed but he makes sure not to overwhelm us about anything. He cares about our well being and is open to hearing out everyone in regards to training methods. He is genuinely amazing and anyone is lucky to learn under him. "
"Coach Hackett has competed at just about the highest level an athlete can in this sport and still competes professionally. With that being said you wouldn’t know it because he is so humble about his own accomplishments and can make any small pr by his athletes seem like an amazing accomplishment. He gets to know every single one of his athletes on a personal level to ensure they are doing everything they can to maximize success. He tells things how they are and will let the athlete steer their own training and goals while he provides the expert guidance to help achieve goals. On top of all of this he trains with his athletes and will run with every single person on the team regardless of speed. Everett has a goofy down to earth personality that makes him easy to get along with as well."
"For some sports the facilities are great and they get specific locker rooms for themselves. However, track has been waiting on a track for a while now so as of right now the cross country and track team has to go to a high school track off campus."
"Coach Green cares about his athletes and is always there for us when we need help mentally or physically. He has taught this team that we do not need to be pushed to our breaking point to become the best runner we can be."
