"I am a former player of this coach at UMES and led the team in many statistics for 3 years straight so i’m not complaining because i didn’t get play time. i’m complaining because Aaron Robinson made me HATE the sport i have loved since i was 3 years old. I never wanted to transfer but it was quit softball or hit the portal and i was not going to let aaron robinson win because that was all he wanted. he became coach my sophomore year and immediately after 3 months we saw the true person he was. he did not care one bit about the athletes, he plays favorites (even when they have 10+ errors and you had 2). coach aaron robinson will lose games before he plays the better players where they belong (hint the 6 wins the whole season, only 3 being division 1). if you are a slapper, he also has NO CLUE how to help you. my batting average dropped more and more each year with aaron as the coach because he had no clue how to coach. he does not know the game. he will not fight for you. in fact, i was called small and cut from the team due to a problems i had voiced to title 9 who had went behind my back ILLEGALLY and told aaron. aaron was butthurt that he heard i did not like him and cut me. as a 3 time all conference selection, 2 year conference stolen base leader, leader in multiple statistic categories each year, and holder of the most career hits and stolen bases at UMES, i was never appreciated because he was too worried about my size including voicing to the assistant coach “come on, would you recruit her… she’s too small” when i was the hardest working and showed it on the field. i never deserved the treatment i went through at umes and neither did anyone else there. i pray for every girl that ever plays for this coach and i pray that you remember your worth everyday. thank God for the transfer portal because i have a coach who doesn’t doubt me because of my size, but cares about the ability. "
"He plays favorites. Along with that, he does not show up on time for anything and only cares about himself. Recommend for people who want to lose their self confidence and hate the sport."
"I loved him so much! I wish it was closer to home so I could’ve went! He is always so open and honest and makes you feel heard! I’m glad he’s part of women sports! ❤️❤️"
"He is not the best coach for a girls bowling team. He doesn’t really coach much other than to take credit for players ideas. He doesn’t seem to be considerate of the players need and everything is at his convenience and nobody else’s like it’s a chore. He doesn’t really talk things out if there is an issue because confrontation isn’t handled well. He talks about players to other players on the team. He doesn’t care about academics and never checks grades."
"One of the worst coaches I’ve had in my years of playing softball. No one has walked away from the program and said how amazing she is. Everyone seems to walk away hating softball. She always mentioned how much she “deserved to be at someplace better” and that UMES is just a stepping stone for her. She needed to be investigated for where all our meal money went. She refused to pay us money for breakfast, made us eat at the hotel breakfasts, and then limited the rest of our money throughout the day.
She would be very petty and if we complained to the athletic director, she would take it out on us and not talk to anyone the next day (even if we had a game). She also has favorites and you defiantly know it if you aren’t one. "
"Lacks communication skills and professionalism. He creates divides between teammates and it's very noticeable on and off the court. Inconsiderate of academic responsibilities. He's Inconsistent and has trouble making decisions whether small or large. A young, unexperienced coach. He should also expand his knowledge on other cultures. "
"Very young coach with little experience and it shows. Hard to take him seriously in any situation. Out of my 12 years of playing volleyball he is by far the worst coach I've ever had. Lacks communication and people skills. "
"He has trouble making important decisions during games, practice and on the road. He is a young coach and is not very experienced. He lacks knowledge of other cultures. He has a hard taking injures into consideration. "
"I can speak on coach Karla as if she was my mother. Good or bad it didn’t matter how we’d play we had somebody who fought for us day in and out. Even with players who wouldn’t start because they weren’t good enough to play, she would still give them chances, and they’d fail, and they’re CLEARLY still upset^^^. Coach Karla follows rule etiquette hence why every time people who didn’t play tried to get her in trouble she was NEVER FIRED. It’s crazy how no matter how many people hate this woman, she does anything to love you and everyone else. Great coach, knows all parts of the game, big time product herself, deserves a better chance at the highest level possible where she belongs coaching, not where girls will cry and try and get her fired over not playing or being a certain race. She was treated like garbage by a grange staff at a garbage school, and she belongs at the top of the game. Best of luck coach Karla, you deserve the best "
