"I left soccer as a whole because of Tim Walters. He is psychologically abusive, there was a letter written about his abuse and as a result his contract was extended. The entire program is corrupt. The starting girls act like your friends but will ultimately stab you in the back during their private conversations with the coach. An entire coaching staff and half of a freshman class left because of him. The day I see him fired is the day I’ll miss playing soccer. "
"These reviews are accurate. Particularly the one about the favouritism of the local girls. I would never recommend to another parent to have their child be involved with this program. "
"This coach does not promote a team environment! He creates division amongst the team of starters and everyone else and since he treats the "everyone else" group like they do not matter, the starters also treat them that way. Do not bother trying to talk to the coach about things because he will just tell you what you want to hear to get you out of his office and nothing will ever change. He sets his mind on who he wants to play and that will not change, no matter how hard you work or try to improve. If someone does get a chance, it will be a couple minutes and the coach will look for the slightest thing to criticize the player for and take them off. A starter could do the same thing and they are praised, but someone off the bench will get criticized for it. Even if you were doing what he wanted, he will say you weren't, just so he doesn't have to play you again. The starters never do fitness. Only the non starters do fitness and if the starters play bad, the non starters have to do extra fitness. Basically if you are a starter you can do whatever you want and play as bad as you want, because you will still start and still play almost all of the game, regardless of how you play. The starters know they are guaranteed a starting position and playing almost the entire game and have no competition to perform. The only players that get to practice what is wanted for the next game is the starters. No one from the everyone else group gets to practice the game plan, they have to do other things somewhere else on the field so they have no idea what to do if they were to even get a chance. Then of course this coach will yell at them for not implementing the game plan, if they did get a couple minutes on the field. The coach will lie and tell you that you will get playing time if you just stick with it, but that never happens. If a goal is scored, it is automatically blamed on the subs, even if no subs were in at the time...it was the result of subbing 1 player at one point during the game for a couple minutes and as a result even less minutes are seen by the bench the next game. The goals are NEVER the result of something a starter did or didn't do. There is so much talent sitting on the bench, that is going to waste with this coach. I would stay clear of this coach no matter what he tells you, as most of it will be a lie. "
"A coach that favors local players. Allows favored players to influence who else gets to play or not. The only players that matter to this coach are the 11 that start. Appears to have different standards for different players at the same positions. Starters can be playing not good, yet won’t sub them out and give someone else a chance. If you’re not a local player good luck getting playing time, unless your a starter as a freshman. . If your local, your almost guaranteed to start or at least sub in. If this coach does happen to sub, it’s usually local players and the subs only get a few minutes. If you’re lucky enough to get in as a sub make sure you play perfect, one mistake and you will probably not see the field again. Only starters can make mistakes with this coach. Seen good players gradually loose playing time even though they were productive when on the field. Unless you are a player from a local club, beware. "
"In all my years I have never seen a coach that is this bad at such a high level of play. He is motivational if you consider fear a good form of motivation? His style of play is that of a u12 girls select team. His tactics are antiquated and obsolete, there is no modern game presented here. I have seen him bully his players and for some reason every year a player leaves due to his behavior towards them. I can not strongly recommend enough to flee from his recruiting your child. "
"Coach Walters does a good job in bringing players together….based off their dislike of him. He is harsh, uncaring, and shows limited ability to develop players. He plays favorites with players who used to play club for him & doesn’t give feedback to help players improve. Would NOT recommend."
"Had expectations that I couldn’t meet because he never communicated with me what they were. Also, would be the first to blame me for anything that went wrong and then would proceed to blame me for poor communication. It caused me enough anxiety to quit. "
"Coach focuses on developing you as player individually by using your strengths and providing you with salient drills. He is passionate about tennis, and he strives to use his resources to improve the team as a whole. At times he can be intense, but that is because he wants the program to improve. He does his best to implement team bonding experiences, so we could get closer as a team. Personally, I felt that he is caring about individuals. Some players may feel otherwise, but I’ve witnessed him checking in with players when he felt that something is off in their mood or game play. He is open for constructive feedback and is willing to make changes within the team. He showed this during our team meetings by asking us what he could improve on. The one issue I had was I felt that he didn’t check in with my emotional well-being as much when I was injured one year. It can be devastating to miss out on matches, and I wish he made me feel that I was still a part of the team especially during practice. I don’t know if it was because season got busy, but this is something I want to see improvements on. "
