"Our daughter was a transfer into the UNCW program. We are so thankful she found a home at UNCW. Coach Neal and his entire coaching staff are amazing. They treat the players with respect and dignity. They are kind and caring, and most importantly, they understand soccer. Coach Neal and his team are well-versed in the game and coach to the teams strength, as is evident by their winning history. Navigating the college soccer landscape is tough especially for high achieving players who are looking for the right program, after our daughter transferred here, we can say first hand, this is what a good program is and should be. For future athletes considering UNCW as an option, know, this is a program where excellence is expected and rewarded, and the culture is positive."

Disorganized Old School Mentality Poor Communication

"Despite an outward charm and kindness, as a coach he sought out to tear down the team and turn players against each other. Additionally he made several extremely racist remarks and lacked any accountability for his actions. He was inappropriate with players that he deemed his favorites - drinking with them, not holding them to the same rules as other players and blatantly showing his favoritism (especially for players whose parents got him extra benefits). He was often disrespectful to his own staff as well in front of players. Overall, he was extremely inconsistent and emotionally abusive. "

Welcoming Athlete Dorms Awesome Campus Great Vibe

"Didn't end up attending UNCW, but it was my favorite recruiting trip. Everyone on the team was super nice, and even had one of the hosts reach out to all the recruits after the trip to check in. Beautiful campus that is so close to an amazing beach. Pool is a little older, but gets the job done and is nice to swim in. Freshman year dorms are very nice- everyone gets their own room and has a shared bathroom and common room."
