"What isn’t there to say about Kat. She pits players against each other and creates the most toxic environment possible. She doesn’t know the game of soccer and relies on other coaches hoping they know what they are talking about. If the game plan breaks down, she cannot correct her team to fix their mistakes. Once she has a game plan, she can’t adapt. She can’t develop a team on or off the field. She will tell you to your face she doesn’t believe in you. She has poor communication skills and does not know how to provide mental, physical, or emotional support to any of her athletes. She doesn’t care about supporting you academically and is vocally upset if you had school conflicts with soccer. She made some players miss their final during the summer and made them fail a class. She is not understanding and has vocalized not being able to sympathize with her players. During my time at school, the team was so toxic that we had a team therapist. Kat could not handle being a Pac-12 coach with winning just 4 out of the 22 games I played with the program. After the ‘17 season, 25 of the 30 players stepped forward to the AD and asked her to remove Kat as the head coach. The AD said no because she didn’t believe Kat was a bad person or a bad coach. She went on to have 2 more losing seasons making that 7 losing seasons in total. Every year she had a losing record. As a team bonding exercise, she bought ducks and made the players take care of them. We had to (no excuses) drive to the field to rotate the eggs at 6:30 am and 11 pm. Even if we didn’t have a car, we were expected to bike or walk to the field which was off campus. If you are questioning power dynamics, she did marry her ex-player. Unfortunately, this isn’t even the tip of the iceberg with Kat and I wish I could type more. I would not recommend ever playing for this woman. "
"Coach Graeme is very egocentric and only cares about himself. He treats many of his players like garbage and has ruined multiple players’ self esteem and has put many in a position to go to therapy, due to his erratic behaviors. He has caused suicidal thoughts and food disorders to some players. If you google his name you will find the article that talks about it and how 12 former players exposed him.
Under his tenure at Oregon, most players have regressed instead on developing. He is a goalie coach so unless you are a goalie, don’t expect to become a better player while at Oregon because Abel won’t invest in you, nor does he have the knowledge or the vision to do that. He holds different players to very different standards and he is a master manipulator. He yells at players when they make mistakes so the team plays terrified and in fear of being subbed off at the first mistake. Negative reinforcement and yelling are key components of his coaching style. His assistant coaches are completely subjugated to him and he treats them like servants.
He has only seen success with players who were not developed by him.
I highly recommend talking with some of the players who have been at Oregon for a few years before considering this school because this coach can really break players."
"Tracy Hamm is an ABUSER! She took the love of the game from several players and it will continue. Eventually someone will die under her coaching. If you could get the girls to speak up there would be huge lawsuit against her. She is a rotten horrible person!"
"I’ve had a really great experience as an athlete under Tracy. She is a highly competitive person who brings energy to every practice. Definitely some challenging practice days but it only makes you realize what you’re able to get through and that you’re stronger than you think"
"Great soccer player, and understands the game well. However, unable to form meaningful connections with players and unable to empathize with players apart from her own race. Passionate about the game but not sure if she understands how to truly support student-athletes on and off the field. "
"Tracy was a phenomenal coach. She trained my team as if we were a D1 program- it was intense and nerve racking but I grew into a better player because of it. Most organized the soccer program ever was. "
"Coach Tracy was by far one of the best coaches I’ve ever had. She is passionate about the game and a boss lady. A leader in every way and a supportive person. "
"Tracy is such an inspirational coach, she knows the game well although can implement it a little better in her players. She demands a lot from you because she knows when you are playing to your potential or not. "
"Has a good knowledge on golf, but is an unfair coach and is quite successful in generating repetitive performance problems and turning athletes to lose love and motivation for their sport. He also likes to play favorites and does not give every player an opportunity to play. "
"An absolute snake in the grass. I highly recommend staying away from this program with the current head coach. If you want to develop as a player, go somewhere else. If you want to maybe go to a regional every couple years playing trash baseball, but sacrifice all chance of developing yourself, this is your place under Mark Wasikowski."
"The most honest, intense and knowledgeable coach I have ever played for. He is definitely the coach I would recommend anyone to play under. He makes playing basketball inspirational."
"My coach is the most passionate and dedicated coaches I have ever been with. The way she motivates the team is so inspirational. Her life revolves around soccer so you know how much the team means to her and how much effort she puts into the program."
