"I loved my experience and time at the university of Great Falls (Providence). Coach Joey was an amazing coach and mentor. The only negative thing I could say is that she let an awful assistant coach named Brittany Bush stay on her staff too long. She was the worst coach I have ever had. Glad to see she was finally fired. "
"I came into the program expecting a great place to be motivated and cared for as a human being. I walked away feeling broken and hurt. She picks favorites and if you aren’t part of that group…you’re done. Do not come here. She is horrible about communication and leaves practice and cancels practice to go drink with her assistants. Catch them at the bar across from their indoor warehouse "
"Piss poor piece of garbage. Stay away! Her assistant (karsten) is an even worse waste of space. She smokes weed 24/7 and they drink like sailors on the road with their athletes. I would trust a mouse in their care, let alone my own child. She didn’t go to rehab. She is still at the bar and casino living it up while the university pays her way. "
"She is the worst coach, ever. We sat in a room while she got drunk with her staff and no one came to check on us, even though we were almost dying of stomach pains from a food born illness on our trip to AZ. It was ridiculous. She had the other girls bring us taco soup after we had been shitting our pants for like 24 hours. Dropped it off and left us to fend for ourselves. Thank God she had a competent person on staff to go get us electrolytes and other food. She would have left us to die if not. Pathetic! "
"Dishonest, immoral, manipulative adult child who should not be trusted in a position of leadership and authority regarding young women. She creates a toxic, harmful atmosphere where development as a player or person is impossible. Don't send your young lady to UP."
"Terrible coach! She’s unprofessional with her team. Her and her assistant coach will come into your work and harass you. she is a dishonest, manipulative, psycho human being. she ruins lives by threatening players, coaches, as well and their families. "
"The most abusive atmosphere I’ve ever been apart of. Went from knowing the game up and down to not knowing how to tie my shoes because of the consistent mistreatment. I would never recommend this school to ANYONE unless they would like to leave a worse player than they started as. "
"Coach Joey pits players against each other, doesn’t work to understand each player, and once she decides what and who you are an an athlete and person…that’s it. That’s all you are to her. No matter how hard you work, how much extra time you put in, or how many meetings you have with her. Once something goes wrong and you are labeled as difficult for her; she loses interest. I would not come to this university and would not want my child to be coached by her. Her ego does not allow for fair and equal treatment if players. She wants full control at the expense of others emotions and well being. The team culture is a mean girl culture where she rules all. She does not communicate and expects everyone else to over communicate, but is rarely available when needed. Her coaching style is to yell, whine, and yell some more when things don’t go her way. What you see is not what you get with her. She puts on a great face when you’re being recruited, but it’s not the same person you will get when you show up for the first day. Do not commit here if you value family and your own well being. "
"Great coach, truly cares about how her players are doing on and off the field! Knows a lot about the sport and goes above and beyond in coaching. Great coach and even better person."
