"Tom is old school. He will never be the one to push you, he leaves it up to you if you want to get better. This style doesn’t work for everyone, as I have seen a number of divers remain stagnant and never push themselves to get better. I happened to be rather self-motivated, so this style worked for me as I climbed up the ranks of our division 1 conference to eventually be crowned champion. He was a guidance counselor for the better part of thirty years, and this makes him extremely easy to talk to. His knowledge of the sport comes from his decades of coaching experience, which is not saying that it isn’t in-depth, but it’s very observational-based, and not very grounded in theory or actual physics behind the sport. He cares immensely about your well-being and he’s the main reason I stayed at the school for as long as I did."
"Terrible coach. Have never been a part of a worse program in my entire life. Never comes to practice and if he does it's 10-30 minutes late EVERY day. Brings his newborn child to practice to sit upstairs and watch us practice leaving no drills or instruction. Disrespects his own players and other coaches..lies almost every day. #doafavorandstayaway"
"Laziest, most unorganized coach I have ever experienced in my entire 15 years of playing tennis. Not only lies to his players' faces, but to the athletic department as well. Shows up to practice once a week if lucky and the only time he will show up, he brings his baby and does not give us any drills. STAY AWAY!!! Also, NO spring break trips. "
"One of the worst coaches I have ever been around. Showed up late to practice, didn't participate, no new drills. It was terrible. Would bring his kid to practice and sit upstairs with it all practice and never coach. He was disinterested and lackadaisical. The school and this program are terrible. Stay away! "
