"Would use our weights discussed with Athletic Trainers for preseason water management, but instead, used it to tell us if we needed to lose weight for the season rather or if we were “too big” to get playing time.
Would not bring enough food or snacks for travel days (one small tub of cream cheese to share with 22 girls and no snacks whatsoever when Road Trips could be 5+ hours)
Threw a player off the team at an away trip and made them get a ride home from their parents who were visiting from out of state. People threatened to quit the team for her. Brought it to our athletic director and we were berated for two hours in a meeting about how disrespectful it was to Aileen that we were doing this and we knew nothing about how to be teammates when her coaching philosophy was “Never Leave Your Wingman”. This caused another player to have a panic attack and truly can’t remember if she refused to ride with us on the bus, or just was dead silent and hid on the bus while we had to make a pit stop at a hospital and have the assistant coach deal with the situation instead.
Would ignore us on bus rides if we lost, sob and even cry in front of. She would stonewall us afterwards and wouldn’t speak to us, making every post game dinner extremely uncomfortable. She would go off on her own and sit angrily off in a corner.
We had an athletic trainer that would try to protect us from her when she didn’t think our injuries were real (concussions, sprains, etc). She made his athletic training students go shag balls for us to the point none of the trainers wanted to come help because she would torture them at sessions. She’d yell at them to move faster or not to speak to us during training. He was a safe person for the team who tried to protect us when our AD wouldn’t. After our season, she complained about him and had him moved to the boys side, citing he “wasn’t allowed to work with girls anymore” to us when we asked, insinuating something happened, only to find out that she generated this narrative to turn us against him.
She ruined team culture and had people snitching on each other left and right. She turned every person against each other.
After losses, she’d run us into the ground. She would cause injuries left and right which felt as her way to punish us for not winning. We were not “worthy” of touching soccer balls after losing games with barely any subs because she would injure people and then when we lost because of this, we’d run even more. She’d do this even if we had a game the next day. Fitness was her priority.
Overall, made me even worse of a soccer player, ruined confidence of anyone under her, and had 10 quit the team because of the abuse in 2015.
"
"We would spend hours on end being ran into the ground after losses with multiple injuries, she left a player at an away game and wasn’t fired by the school, she wouldn’t let us talk to our parents after game, she approached us about our weights in individual team meetings where that information was supposed to stay confidential with the athletic trainers, she called a girl with a concussion “Swiss cheese brain”, would constantly insult players and tell us it wasn’t her job to take care of us if we were crying or upset, that that was our parents job. She didn’t take mental health seriously whatsoever and was by far the most abusive coach I’ve ever had. Multiple people at both Alfred and Ursinus will tell you the truth. Her team culture was horrible and she was a bully. "
"Everything was super nice but the only thing I didn't get to see were the players on the team. I wish I was able to see them so I could ask questions but the overall campus was really nice."
"Great coach. On my visit, he was very nice and super helpful while we were playing. He was also very open to ideas and very welcoming to new players. "
"Puts up a front when recruiting, but is a very harsh and demeaning coach. Lacks communication skills needed as a collegiate coach. Had expectations set too high for the team’s current caliber at division 3, not realistic. "
